  1. The adidas OBC Patriots 15U team is traveling to Chapel Hill, NC to play in the NCAA Certified Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions this weekend.
  2. Two weeks ago the Adidas Ohio Basketball Club Patriots 15U made it to the final four of the Pittsburgh Jam Fest, beating the Ft. Wayne Flames, Boo Williams and Pittsburgh Storm in pool play. Eventually losing in the Gold Bracket final four to New Heights, NY (last years 14U AAU national champion). Last weekend the OBC Patriots finished 2nd out of 63 teams in the King James Tournament in Akron, OH. They beat Mc Irvine Fire (IL), Team Melo (MD) in pool play then in bracket play they beat the Queen City Prophets (Cin, OH), All Ohio Red (OH), Ferrari (Ill), CIA Bounce (Toronto, Ontario) and lost to CBIZ (OH) in the championship game.
  3. Conner beat Ryle by 2, game went back and forth. I believe Adam Crews had 35 points, I don't think he missed a shot all night. Looks like Coach Hicks has his boys ready again for district tournament time. Congrats to Conner!:thumb:
  4. I would hate to see Coach Wright resign after one disappointing season. He's done an outstanding job with Lee's program over the years. I hope this is just a rumor.
  5. Tough loss, was the district seeded or was it a draw? If it was a draw, that was a bad one for McCreary, seems like they struggled with Wayne Co. both times this year.
  6. Was this the first game in the district tournament?
  7. I heard that Flannery, Gabbard & Popp will be playing in the freshman tournament. But Wildcatfan is right if there is a conflict with a JV/Varsity game they won't play with the freshman team.
  8. Oak Hill's record is 7-7, they have played two KY teams, they lost to Bishop Brossart and they beat Cov. Holy Cross
  9. Rose Hill in a tight one, 65 - 63. The game will be won at the free throw line. I'd really like to be at this one! Good luck Royals!:thumb:
  10. It's hard to beat a good team 3 times. Is McCreary Co. a good team?
  11. Looks like Wayne Co has McCreary's number, but anything can happen in the district tournament. I've seen teams lose every game in the district and go on a run and win the district tournament and go to the regionals. Anything can happen! Good luck to both teams.
  12. I think Rose Hill will win by 15+ If Raceland can stop Euton from shooting the three, he will move to the post. Raceland doesn't have anyone that can stop Euton when he is playing inside; and they definitely do not have anyone that can stop Jackson from penetrating and scoring or drawing a foul.
  13. Chad turned 15 in September 06, however he is a legit freshman; and a VERY GOOD ONE at that.:thumb:
  14. Not being pointed but what's going on with Powell Co. I thought they were going to be a contender in the 14th Region. At the beginning of the season several Powell Co. supporters were on BGP stating that they were senior strong and they would be the best team in the 14th. I know that Romans got hurt and missed a few games which would account for some early losses but he's been back the past month or so and they are still getting beat by teams that are not supposed to be tops in the region. Is the chemistry bad, are they not executing, I know they have a new coach and maybe they are still learning his new system, are they not playing good or are they not as good as everyone thought they would be?
  15. I don't agree. Several areas of the state do not hold kids back for sports like they do in Eastern KY, it's not common practice and not socially accepted. There are many many 14 year old freshmen, it's the 15 & 16 year old freshmen that get all the hype. Mainly because they are bigger, stronger, faster and more mature than the 14 year old freshmen. There is a huge difference in physical ability between a 14 year old and a 16 year old. Maybe there should be a thread that asks... who are the best 14 year old freshmen in the state?
  16. 14 or 16, it's irrelevant, he is a freshman and a very good one. The only thing about being a 16 year old freshman, is that he may be limited on how much he grows in high school.
  17. Those are the LIT Ratings, that does not mean they are ranked #4 in the state. These ratings are based on W-L record, point spread, teams that they have played and a few other criteria in the mix. There is no way they are the fourth best team in the state! There are probably at least 30 teams in Lexington, Louisville, Northern KY and other parts of the state that would beat them on a consistent basis. I'm not knocking the team and they are probably the strongest team in the 15th region but when you compare them to the best teams in the state they fall way short. Now, in a couple of years they have the potential to be one of the top teams in the state. Just not yet. Keep it up SV, hope to see you representing the 15th at Rupp!
  18. Don't have the experience! Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. They have been playing against the best competition in the nation the past few years, and not only at their level, sometimes one and two years above them. I've seen most of the players on the above lists and I definitely would have Euton and Jackson in the top five. I think you need to make a trip to a game that Rose Hill is playing. You will be impressed, I promise. Both of these boys have played some very good teams this year and no-one in a regular season game has kept them scoring from anywhere from 20-40 points each a game. It's not like Rose Hill has a balanced scoring team and the defense has to guard all five players on the floor as an offensive threat. The defense is focusing on trying to stop them but they can't. Euton and Jackson is proving what they are capable of doing. The amazing thing to think about is they still have three more years to gain the "experience" that you say they are lacking.
  19. They have a very good young team, but they have played an extremely easy schedule. However, in a couple of years, they could be one of the better teams across the state.
