You know what.....you’re absolutely right. What I saw last night was a completely different team from the 1st three games. Killer attitude wasn’t there. Very sloppy at times on offense. Multiple missed tackles. Those things have to be corrected this week or Highlands will be looking at another loss heading into back to back Colonel weeks. Honestly, I think a message will be sent saying, last week isn’t the new Highlands football. Back on track! #1March

I do think special teams need a lot of work. Not a whole of creativity on return teams. Need misdirection IMO. Way to easy to defend straight on blocking. Welch seemed to be missing tonight. He needs a lot more touches. Maybe I missed something. Previous games he seemed to a lot more involved on offense. Idk, maybe coaches trying something different. Birds seemed a little off tonight. I said earlier in the year there would be bump in the road and hopefully this was it. No reason to panic. Just learn from this one and move on to next. We do need a solid running back that can stay healthy if we are going to go far this year. I think priority call this week from AD is to KHSAA.....hello have you reviewed the paperwork yet?

Honestly not sure. They are 3-0 with a lot of confidence so that right there is half the battle. Sure they are not your big school GCL powerhouse but will be a formidable opponent I’m sure. Highlands is still getting back on their feet. Long way to go!

You nailed it with the “buying in” comment. Look at this year, only 3 weeks into a new era at Highlands and the “email” parent is already at it wanting change. Unhappy because little Bobbie isn’t 1st team or on 1st team bus just because he’s a junior. The new staff....don’t give a rats behind of who you are or think you are. There are several underclass men starting for Highlands because they are the best chance to succeed. But when the “email king” continues to try and destroy/stop something positive, yeah that’s not buying in. Especially his kid. Kid wants daddy/mommy to fix it. Maybe time for them to buy in or look elsewhere. Let’s hope no emails are in the inbox of the principal this week. Highlands has turned the page on the last chapter.
