  1. What a rainbow pass from Hartline. Those will eventually be picks by a decent secondary. stick to the short stuff.
  2. UL's run defense has looked really impressive. UK can't have more than 25 or 30 yards rushing right now. I don't think they've given up a run for more than 5 yards so far that I've seen.
  3. Those will kill you in a game with as little offense as this one has had.
  4. Hartline has surprised me so far. He hasn't done anything that overly impressed me but he's been consistent. You can tell he's getting a little more comfortable too.
  5. Love the pass on hartlines first play.
  6. It's always taken the efforts of the kids, parents, and coaches though. I was answering the question from a geographical point as it was asked in the original post. I read the post as : Do you have to transfer to a larger school or a different area to be seen by colleges ? My answer to that would be no.
  7. That's when the parents and the kids coaches come into play. It's tough to get looked at as a lineman anyway, but by sending out film and going to camps, if he's good enough at the end of the day, someone will find him.
  8. I hope not. Hartline may impress a lot of people today and I hope that he does, I just haven't seen the guy play once so I'm a little skeptical. I know UK has a nice running game, but a running game is nothing without a decent passing threat.
  9. A new QB and an away game will be too much for UK to handle. I hate to say it...UL by 11 UL 21 UK 10 Hope the cats can prove me wrong:thumb:
  10. If a kid is good enough, he's going to be found by a d-1 coach. Plain and simple.
  11. How many key players did Pikeville have graduate last season ? I believe they won this game pretty easily last year.
  12. I would have considered myself to be one of those in the "in" crowd if I didn't go to the school that I went to. I was an athlete, always nominated for home coming courts and such, never had a problem getting a good looking date on the weekend. That being said, I went to the County School and to be honest, we didnt really have groups. It's almost like we were a completely different breed of people when compared to a few of the other schools around us. None of us, guys anyway, took longer than 10 minutes to get ready and our idea of a good time was drinking around a fire and playing the guitar. I now date a girl who went to the city school. She often talks about how much more comfortable she is around my friends than she was around hers in high school. She says it's mainly because we really didn't have groups. Anyone who wanted to drink (or be a reliable dd) was welcome to join in on the fun. She talks about her school and how they had so many different groups and that it took the guys just as long to get ready for a date as it did the girls:lol: I hung out with a pretty wide variety of people in high school. The group of people I ran around the most with consisted of myself, a couple of other football players, a band member, a choir member, a preachers son, and one of the oddest dirt bike racers you'll ever meet (he was actually good enough to be sponsored by Yamaha). It was a melting pot of kids, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
  13. If they are cut, from lets say basketball, should they be allowed to try out for the girls team ?
  14. I was going to use a comparison between Boys and Girls Basketball, but won't due to the fact that it's the same sport and is offered to both men and women. Someone earlier compared this to discrimination. What if a guy wasn't quite good enough to play baseball for his high school team. What if that same guy was awesome at softball ? Should we allow him to compete on the woman's softball team ? If this were not allowed would it be considered discrimination ? Should we allow weaker players to play the ladies sports so they can also compete ?
  15. Like I said earlier, no matter what the extent, a foot injury is much better than a knee injury. Maybe not for this year, but for Wells' future. Some of the guys on ESPN were talking about Pryor getting more playing time than expected. Think OSU will run a 2 quarterback system this year ? If I were an OSU fan, I wouldn't mind seeing an athlete like Pryor get several snaps a game. If nothing else, let him use his legs and see what he can make happen.
  16. I know we've had this discussion before on BGP. I'll stand by what I've always said. Thinking of the young woman's safety, cutting her was the right thing to do.
  17. Nice win for OSU. Any updates on B.Wells ? I saw that Pryor got his first touchdown. How did he look ?
  18. That's a pretty bold prediction Hit Catch Throw. I hope you're right though. How much did Pikeville lose from their team last year ? I believe they beat Ashland by a couple of TD's last season.
  19. This game has really become huge for both Ashland and Raceland. Especially after Ashland moved up to 5A. For Raceland, an early season win over a 5A team is a huge confidence booster and really a great way to start off another season. For Ashland, a win over Raceland would have got a mark in the win column. Something that is very important considering the schedule they play. A loss to Raceland to start the season off, followed by a very good Pikeville team, followed by an always tough Ironton, OH team, on to the rivalry Russell club and finishing off with Montgomery County team. Week six against Boyd (4A) may be Ashland's first chance to get a win again this season. It's tough on any ball team to keep their heads up when the numbers in the loss column are getting higher and the number in the win column is staying at 0. I'm not at all saying that Ashland won't beat all of their upcoming opponents, just giving an example of what happened last season. A first week win over Raceland would have been huge for the Tomcats.
  20. Ashland has accepted a transfer athlete ?:eek::eek:
  21. Boyd will have a tough one against Russell next week.
  22. Congrats to Raceland on the win and making it 3 in a row over Ashland.
