  1. I totally agree! How can Anyone say that Euton's move (no matter what daddy said to the paper) was not legitimate! I DO NOT know the details behind the Jackson move, but if someone could ever tell me the real true reason(s) behind his move, then I would consider a different opinion but until then I will disagree with the ruling on Jackson. May I have a PM LRCW?
  2. When RH plays varsity / district games in 2009, can they play JV games during the regular season outside of their mandatory district games? I know that they could not count them (JV games) in their overall record, but this could be helpful in building confidence and a good program builder as they transition into varsity caliber district competition.
  3. Be afraid! Be Very Afraid! :scared::eek::scared: Talent will come soon :sssh:, and in a 1A class it will be easy to rise to the top of that classification because of the difference a player or two (or 3 or 4 on both sides of the ball) could make on the field.
  4. Are they not the "SAME" size as all the other schools in their district?
  5. Nathan Sutton would be the best candidate for this job! He could grow with the team and be a great addition to the program!
  6. I am the first one to ridicule transfers and the schools involved, but how can the KHSAA rule Euton ineligible when there was a legitimate change of address? I know, I know the (athletic purpose) argument but come on, when you HAVE TO move, then that is reason enough to be eligible. Jackson is a different argument IMO.
  7. RP, do you have any idea about a date to name the AD? and then a follow-up timetable to let the AD announce their new head coach? I keep looking in the paper and waiting for an announcement of either.
  8. Razor, Two weeks has come and gone!!!! When is the word coming out about the next coach?
  9. I do not want predictions, just any information on what or where will he be in the near future?
  10. Has anyone heard where Dodd is heading now? I have heard from many people that he has not been seen around RHS much lately? Doese anyone have any reliable sources about the direction he is heading? college, high school (what region), retire, etc.
  11. Dodd at GC, what a joke! Butt if true, there will continue to be 3 63rd district schools happy he is still around. With seeding next year, Russell, Raceland and Lewis would be extactic with Dodd roaming the sidelines at GC. Dodd is a good COLLEGE coach and I hope he returns to where his expertises are valued.
  12. How fitting and appropriate this would be? This would make things very questionable for the direction that the program needs to be heading IMO.
  13. The team and coach has been rebuilt before and they succeeded just fine! My speculation is that they should be able to weather the storm of defections AGAIN! They may not be a top 5 team, but don't think about them in the bottom 5 either. My issue is: like a rebuilt grill, after so many replacement parts and cleanups, how long can the grill continue to be reliable? You must break down and buy a new grill eventually. Can the basketball program be rebuilt for a third time to the glory it has achieved twice already with Mayo & Euton? Lastly, why do kids keep leaving the school based on ... well, nevermind. I have only noticed that the only headlines RH has received lately is sports and not about a Christian education (I know athletics is one of the 3 statements!). Wait I stand corrected, I have read many numerous articles, in the past, about their fine theatre arts program/performaning arts for the community, but thats about it. :thumb:
  14. It certainly doesn't help when you don't better prepare for an upcoming "down" year. He was riding on Talent alone the past 2-3 years with an influx of transfers into the program and was not winning due to coaching philosophies. Why hasn't talent within their school system been developed if you think it is about one bad season. Nobody forgets that easily, it's just when you win enough then the wolves can't attack (yet), but the idea has always been there throughout the "good times". Now duck, you are correct about the loss of players from that team, but how many players were contributing on a nightly basis? Seven, but never once did he find time to work this years (down) players into the games to try to develop a better flow into the transition year.
  15. I agree with with UncleJed, that this a legitimate move. If people start buying houses for moving their child into a particular district then that's a pretty good verification that they want to go to school there. I mean it is not like baseball cards, we're talking about hundred thousand dollar decisions. If I wanted my kid to learn math & science, then I would send them to Dunbar, go figure.
  16. How did Jackson "show up" at Rose Hill then if he was originally from Lexington? I thought Jackson has been enrolled at RH for a long time (since elementary school)?
  17. I demand a recount!!! My previous post is inaccurate. lol Since things have since changed. Let me think this over again: 1. Elliott 2. Fairview 3. East Carter 4. Bath County
  18. Westwood is in Fairview's school district lines and is not in Ashland's district limits, so they would definitely be a Fairview student. NO matter how much Ashland adults would be upset, They would be a certified Eagle.
  19. Yes it is the same type of move!!!! You move from one school district to another. That school district in which the student resides MUST accept that student or provide services for them. So Strike, It is the SAME type of move under the state's policies. Take out personal interpretations to these rules and this is the same type of move. :argue: Now, the family must prove a change in residency to KHSAA to be a justifiable move, lets say a water or electric bil could be valid. If the student lives inside a PUBLIC schools district lines, then they are a student of that district, no question about it. But, Strike.... If you are talking about their athletic eligibility that season, then it would be a case by case ruling by the mighty KHSAA. This is where illogical decisions are becoming more evident daily. KHSAA could not justify disallowing that athlete participation for their school district if proof of movement was shown, and they would definitely lose in court (and monetary losses also).
  20. Im going with Elliott again. Elliott County is 4-1 vs Rose Hill the last 4 years and 6-1 the last 5 years in head-to-head competition. Besides EC very poor performance in their one loss vs. RH, they have owned RH in record wise. I will go with the back to back 16th region champs! So: 1. Elliott 2. Rose Hill (very close second) 3. Fairview
  21. Rambler, you are correct!!! So many times we don't enjoy the moment. These kids are very talented and successful. I hope that many people from EC will enjoy this legacy that this particular group of kids are putting on display. There are only a few that speak loudly about the coaches and officials, but "golly gee" just savor the moment and appreciate the joy and happiness that this team is giving you day in and day out.
  22. My calculation figures: 1.5+1.5=3 Who's Driving those buses? It takes a yellow dog no more than an hour and fifteen minutes usually. Some buses and drivers put the "pedal to the metal" and get there quick.
  23. I will go with: 1. Elliott 2. Rose Hill 3. East Carter 3-13 (I will go with whatever Cubster posts eventually) 14. Russell 15. Greenup 16. Menifee
  24. It will be embarrassing! Elliott will "Double up" every point Russell scores. Take your pick: 68-34, 78-39, 96-48. Wait, can Russell score 48 pts? anyways, it will be ugly.
  25. I will venture out and say they are top 16, b/c I believe they will be 1 of the remaining 16 teams at the end of the season! I will even step out even further and say they could be a top 10 (wait top 8) team at the very end.
