  1. Big win for the Rebels!! Haynes kid stole the show.
  2. Final Jake Ohmer gets fouled on a 3 attempt with 3:49 to play down 67-65. UAB also whistled for a Technical. Ohmer makes 4/5 FT's to take lead and the Hilltoppers never look back. Nice work Jake!!!
  3. Final Birds go above 500!! Ben Sisson back on the court tonight that is a good sign.

  5. Pretty good analysis but you forgot Mason Schwalbach who gained extremely valuable minutes at LB as a 10th grader. The kid has a nose for the ball and will likely be in the mix with those other athletic backers. Ahlfeld can be a game changer for the Birds if they move him back to offense which is highly likely. I actually think he could be a 2 way starter along with Huddy. They will be 2 of the best Jr's in NKY.
  6. In reference to Part 1- Highlands does a good job of getting kids to work hard in the offseason at becoming those special HS players who exceed expectations. However, you still have to have coaching that recognizes where those kids belong and how to get them sold on your plan. I am not so sure those kids these past 2 years were sold. Dale always did a great job of not only keeping his teams disciplined but also believing they were world beaters. I saw a bunch of heads hanging these past 2 seasons which tells me the kids don't believe in themselves or that they cant respond to adversity in games. IN the past you had teams make a big play or score on a long play and the next series it was Towles finding Sheehan for a bomb or Hoge rolling right and turning a sprint out pass into a 75 yrd gain. The confidence was always there and I just didnt see it these past 2 seasons. I saw a lot of kids who looked defeated out there and that is where this "Culture" thingy keeps rearing its head.
  7. Huddy should play both ways but I like him split out where he can be in space. Austin King and Nate Roberts are a couple of big receivers who can line up at TE. They won't have any burner receivers like Vennaman but they will have some surehanded kids who have experience, plenty to choose from. The offensive line is where they need kids to really step up and work hard in the weight room this off-season. Defensively they played a bunch of sophomores this past season and they return DB's with experience in Armstrong, Greene and Brass. The D Line should be anchored by Sisson on the end as a pass rusher but they could use a plug in the middle. Downard has a knack for getting through offensive lines with quickness, he reminds mw of Cam Dierig from yrs back. I think team defense and the offensive line are the keys next season. They have to figure out a way to stop giving up big plays and they absolutely have to protect Cramer so he can do his thing.
  8. The Bluebirds have a chance on Thursday night to go above 500 for the first time under Kevin Listerman. He has flirted with the chance 2 other times this season. The last time Highlands had a record above 500 was December 12th, 2012. They beat Frankfort 59-52 in the Woodford Co Invitational led by Bailey Witte & Nick True who both scored 14 that night. Could this be a turning point in the Bluebird Hoops program?
  9. This whole thread is a waste of breathe, Highlands is NOT going to drop back down to their Class 4A size. You think there is an uproar in Caketown right now let them do that and they will have to call the riot police in. I like the juicier threads...you know As The World Turns around Ft Thomas type threads.
  10. Highlands has a good JV squad and the lower bracket might be the easier one.
  11. I know Weinrich has been spotted at clinics but no assistants from, what I understand. This is from another HC in NKY as well.
  12. Yea that is about 50 points they were missing..major loss hope they are coming back soon.
  13. Final in the 1st Round of All A Classic. Breds bounced in first round, when was the last time this happened? Congrats to the Indians. Great broadcast Baseballnut!
  14. Play calling did get better as the season went along but I think many in the stands were baffled by some of the early season plays being called.
  15. Is Leopold the JV Head Coach? I think I heard that somewhere. I also know at the freshman level those guys are instructed to develop those guys so you really cant get a good read on their success by a W/L record.
  16. What have they done to make the administration very high on them? Just curious....
  17. What happened with him at Dayton? Wasn't he a HC down there at one time?
  18. Head Coach: Mr. Brian Weinrich Assistant Coaches: Mr. Nick Behymer Mr. Dan Court Mr. Zach Deaton Mr. Jim Dierig Mr. Mark Dill Mr. Brady Dowling Mr. Wayne Hall Mr. Shelby Jones Mr. Ryan Leopold Mr. John Murray Mr. Matt Reed Mr. Gary Schrader Mr. Scott Turner I am trying not to sound negative here but as I peruse this list are there any on there that could be a Head Coach at any other school? Scott Turner, Wayne Hall and Nick Behymer are the only 3 that I really know of when I think of coaches who have been with the program during the glory days. Dill is the other one actually.
