Correct you are Colonel Fan, it was a sideline warning. WOW the Kid goes for a 68 yard TD on a ESPN highlight film play that literally every local TV station ran at least twice and all some of you want to do is rag on the kid for being happy. :idunno: Darn I see more celebration on a TD each Sunday from NFL players and on Saturday from the NCAA players, than I saw on a HS kid scoring a huge TD, in a game that at the Time was a somewhat tight game! Tough crowd!

The haters are going to hate!

Keep your kids heads up, they will walk away with the 1A state title! They are a great group of kids, they play hard and didn't quit and I was impressed with the Beechwood fan base, as they stayed until the bitter end and never stopped cheering their kids on! :thumb:

Cord of Wood "Someone at Cov Cath told me he was worried. That is why I take BW by 8". Theoldguy wasn't worried at all, he was just not wanting to take the bait and let the team do it's thing. I didn't care if it was by 1 or a 101, or, as it turned out by 34 points, a W is still a W. BTW Beechwood will win the 1 A State Championship they are a very good team but Ryle, LexCath and Kings all would beat them.

Don't know why anyone in the local area wouldn't be at this game (correct VOR) but if you can't make it to Ft. Mitchell Friday night, you can listen to the live CovCath Internet Radio Broadcast with Mark and Kevin. National High School Broadcast Network

Running clock or a win by only 1, doesn't really matter, as ether way, it's a "W" and that is all that matters.

It's a rivalry game plan and simple and it is played each year because it packs in the fans from each team, which brings in the much needed revenue for both schools. There is really no cost to travel, the local bars and restaurant love it, as prior to and after the game they will all be packed as the Red Tigers and the Blue Colonels fans will sit down together and have a beer because they are in reality neighbors or in fact relatives.

Christ Christmann, Alex is 6'2 and btw his Father is the Head Coach of Cincinnati McNick Baseball team.

SC fans, get there early as parking is a pain if your not a Lancer fan!

About the bold: CovCath starting defense gave up only 7 points to Ryle (the other 10 were given up late in the game) on the first play of that game. The 2 points that were scored by LexCath was earned via a safety on a bad snap during a punt. CovCath shutout Cooper and yes all 14 points vs. Kings were against the 1st team defense. So the CovCath 1st team "D" has only given up a total of 7-0-0-14 = 21 divide that by 4 and the 1st team "D" has only given up 5.25 points so far in 4 games. Also IMHO Kings beats any of the other three teams (Ryle, LexCath and Cooper), CovCath has played so far! BTW nice article! :thumb:

A W is a W no matter the score! :-)

Nope, just mine and as I told Guru, all you have to do, is look at my past posts and you will see I have said this for a long long time.

The folks in Ohio laugh when I tell them the number of teams in each one of our six Divisions and think what we call a State Champion in Football is indeed laughable and can't quite understand why so many teams make the playoffs and why Ky has so many divisions with so few teams. Then I tell remind them that in Basketball we have only one State Champion while they have how many? :-) As far as your prediction, Guru you aren't going to like this but.... One game at a time, one win at a time and getting better each time out. The next game is against Beechwood, so Beechwood is the only game CovCath will worry about this week. You and others can predict all you want but CovCath will work and get ready for Beechwood and Beechwood only.
