Tough one to swallow for the Camels. Congrats to HC and Noah in particular, and to CC on a fine (and possibly overachieving) campaign.

I don’t want this to devolve into a “this guy stinks” discussion. They’re both excellent players. But who’s readier for SEC basketball from the jump? Who has the higher ceiling? Perry or Noah?

Somebody hit the mail on the head in another thread. The SEC is indeed by and large a bunch of average teams beating up on each other.

I believe it will be Cal for one (maybe) last hurrah. He needs to hit the portal hard for some battle-hardened upperclassmen and show some flexibility with regard to ingame management. But if I’m a UK fan, I go after Billy D. I know Cal has “NBA connections”. But it’s hard to believe that Donovan doesn’t.

If I was a UK fan, this would be my frustration. You could fill an NBA all-star roster with Cal recruits. These guys are tearing up the Association. But his teams are woefully underperforming in the NCAA postseason. They’re the Dallas Cowboys of college basketball.

Here’s what I told several people after watching Campbell dismantle GRC in the regional semis. They may not pass the eye test. But watch them play. They shoot well. They take care of the ball. They get deflections. They’re a smart, well-coached basketball team.

Not to me, but it ain’t over yet.

I like to see the Eastern KY/Mountain teams do well. I’m pretty sure of what’s going to happen to Magoffin in the quarters, but Harlan County vs Newport/Campbell could be a really entertaining matchup.
