Thats good, I enjoy watching him play. But I do agree with him that football is his best sport and for him to go to college for sports it will be thru football.

Now that Kasey Clark is no longer with the team, how will this affect Russell this Friday?

I've heard there were problems and if you remember he was suspended for the last Boyd Co game. Would be interested to hear though, shooterx3 may be able to shed some light on the subject.

Top 4 look right on to me, but 5th could also include Rowan or Fairview. But region title should be between the top 4 listed with Boyd being the favorite in preseason.

But if they play like they did against East Carter they will lose by 10+. This team is just way too hard to predict.

It was a different coaching staff that did the Ft Walton tournament, so they wouldn't really know. But there was some travel involved to get to the fields to play, but every field was within 30-40 min of where the teams were staying. Plus the atmosphere was more of mixing a vacation with baseball, which alot of the kids and parents liked since I think only 2 or 3 of the kids families didn't go to FL. The parents at BC are great about following their kids no matter where they play. But at Cocoa you are correct about it feeling like a baseball camp atmosphere, you can see a game anytime of the day if you wish and all the players are right there on the facility.

They haven't proven that they can play consistent enough to make any run in the tournament. But with that being said, they do have the talent to do it, just a matter of making it work. Whether they are capable of pulling that off, only time will tell.

Any word on how Vanhooses ankle is?

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him play at UK, but I believe he would be better suited to start out at a JUCO or even a smaller college then move on to UK if he proves he can play on that level. Anyway you look at it though, it would have to be a great honor for any kid in this state to even have UK be interested in you.

Good win for Ashland, esp after the way they had been playing. I guess they had the same team that beat BC show up against Elliott. This team is very hard to figure out though, there generally aren't this many inconsistencies on a team from game to game.

No, these are all legit schools who have shown interest in Owens, but as far as I know, UMASS has shown the most interest so far. Also James Madison and Tenn-Martin have also shown interest.

Owens has a better shot at going to UK than Vanhoose any day. He is the better player.

Boyd generally plays a mixture, but most games end up being against other KY teams.

Boyd Co only has Varsity and JV, but there are some who would like to see a JV2 or freshman team formed.

:thumb: We did that at Boyd Co 2 years ago and it was a much more enjoyable time. We were at Ft Walton Beach in a tournament setting they put on. The kids and prents had a much more enjoyable time than at Cocoa. Plus Cocoa is run down and the facilities are not the greatest either. But it isn't that bad, except for traveling all the way to FL to play KY teams, but it beats sitting at home playing nobody.

Owens is a totally different player than Guillum. His speed on the court is what is so hard to match.

Have you even watched Owens play?? SEC may be a bit of a stretch, but even SEC play is down here of late, but to think that he couldn't play at Marshall or an OVC school is ludacris. I guess that is why Travis Ford at UMASS is wanting Owens to attend school there.

What alot of people don't know is that he won't even have to use a scholarship on him, Tubby can get Owens for free.

Oops, forgot about Bradley and Moss, but if you will remember, Moss was a walk on at UK and has made himself a very good player. So who is to say the same thing won't happen for Owens. He obviously has talent or he wouldn't have gotten a letter from Tubby or he wouldn't be averaging 30 per game in his 1st season playing varsity ball.
