  1. I attended tonight there was some good competition.
  2. Ryan Amburgey was ruled eliglble by the KHSAA on June 13.
  3. I hope they rule in his favor, he was a hard nosed football player in the midle school, can't wait to see him now.
  4. I would bet that it was henderson co. Coach Cobb, Coach Jackson, and the Boyle Co. coach and coach Clevenger were the three finalists for the henderson co job.
  5. He is at Williamsburg and has been for a little while now.
  6. You can only beat a dead horse for so long................ I think the time is up. No matter what our feelings are toward this issue, for or against we cant change it. Lets just look foreward to the seasons we have.:thumb:
  7. I think you are right, it should be a very fun year for Corbin Football.
  8. 6'2 309lbs Benched 350 this week. Campell also benched 350 and he has lost about 20 lbs from last year.
  9. That is true, offenses don't compete against each other.
  10. Good job Coach J, thats what i like about you folks. You take everything on head on leaving no room for doubts about your dedication and talents.
  11. Its hard to beat a team 4 times in a season especially when that forth time is at corbin. Corbin by 5
  12. Fritts is a big time play maker. He has a great stride that he can stop and juke and never miss a step when he picks it back up. Very good Lateral movement. Watkins will probably be the big suprise to most. He contriduted quite abit last year late in the season at the LB spot. He is also a very hard runner. This year he is alot stronger than last year. As of nof he squats 350 and benches 225 who knows what he'll be by the end of the summer. Fritts also has that big power clean for a freshman that gives him the explosion at 225. Look for big things this year. The team as a whole see what they can do next year and are all working extremly hard in the weight room. I mean there is allready one squating 530 with the whole summer to go. Look for big things from the allready big and stout line. I cant wait i am counting down the days.
  13. Guy Lewallen OL/DL Ryan Fritts RB Caleb Watkins RB/OLB All three of these got some action last year. Watkins probably getting the most at LB late in the season. Look for good things from these three right out of the gates this year.
  14. Yeah old bays was a man among boys. He was big as he was, but he really intimidated teams when he pulled that jersey up over the cowboy collar. It made a 6'4 240 DE look like about 6'6 300. His presence alone at that DE spot will be hard to ever match.
  15. I heard that also the other night. Good to hear. Maybe he needed some time to find him-self and decide if he was willing to dedicate himself to it. It is a big dedication for a teenager to make. I'm glad he has rethought the situation's and decided he was willing to dedicate himself. It will payout for him in the end, not only will he have two more great years at corbin, but being a part of a program like corbin with the discipline and dedication it makes you a better person and gets you more ready for life.
  16. :ylsuper: Some other people need to sit and talk to him and see what he is about before they trash him.
  17. Alot of options for him and a bright future. Probably some DE/ TE and some split out like last year. Could see him some at OLB aslo just never know, up to the work ethic in the off season.
  18. I agree completley except for changing the expectations for our team
  19. Here is the bottom line beating or playing bell co was a big thing when i was playing, before and after. We WILL NOT play them this year, you can grype and make all the outlandish comments about it that you want about not playing them brings shame to the community. (thats the craziest thing i have heard). By supporting this team as a community since this community is what built the team we all need to support the staff. They know what is in the best interest of the team, thats why they are in the position they are in and not us.
  20. I don't know about you, but to me beating or playing bell co. every year because it is a rivalry is not the goal in mind. The goal in mind is to Win a State Title.
  21. By the way just doin some math corbin bell hasn't been a rivalry for 50 years bell hasnt been a consolodated school that long. Am i right math man?
  22. Hey man i wouldnt have it any other way.:ylsuper:
  23. If you think that coach jewell has the mind set that this is HIS team, you are badly mistaken. He knows that this team was made by the town and the town made by the team. If you have ever listened to him he will tell his players that they are representing this community, the redhound jersey, and the Rich Pride and Tradition that Corbin has. He doesn't say go out and represent Coach Jewell or Coach Farris etc. He knows what made Corbin football what it is today and he was a part of that. Corbin will be fine next year.
  24. Thanks for the complement those compliments mean alot from a class act program as well who knows football. Good luck to Russell next year. Corbin will do just fine, no talks about winning it all yet that has to be in the sights. Since some "fans" want to criticize the schedule that we have don't want to start anything and go in to the game by game.
