I guess I will go watch the best 8th grade Freshman play today, Arkansas " The ARK" Brewer, Newport's Freshman played Beechwood today at 3:00 at Newport.

Newport's has a nice draw, look for them to get on a roll and make some noise in this tournament!!!

I graduated as a 17 year old as well, and most of the athletes I played youth sports with were only Sophmores, when some of them received scholarships a few years later I never heard anyone saying, "Them guys are 19 years old". The fact of the matter is, students relocate and some times they get held back for scholastic reasons. All that really matters is whats's best for the youngman, as long as the student is eligible.

Hands down Willie Schlarman is the best, he could be coaching college right now, the Northern Ky. players are lucky to have a coach of his caliber around.

How good is Walt Allen? Is he the best player in the state??

I had heard, that Big Jim Sanfoss from New Cath taught Dave Cowens how to play basketball, and then went on and had a successful career at Morehead State, where he still holds the career Free throw average set at 92.5%.

Thanks for your insight laniganfan29, But, for the record Arkansas Brewer just turned 15 years old and he will be eligible to play all his high school years. You should wish the youngman good luck, he's a great athlete.

What about the Beuter boy he can shoot the lights out of it. Look for the Thoroughbreds to be right there because they have the best big man in Keirnan boy in the region!!!

Man, if their that good they could beat some high schools!!!

What about Jack Jennings, Dickie Beal, and Doug Schlomer, from the Covington Holmes Bulldogs. They were some great high school players!!!
