Coaches that I talk with, all say much the same thing regarding video. They want to see 3-4 minutes of skills, not so much game footage but ability in area, the player is wanting to showcase. Videos, bios and information are aspects that Coaches use to evaluate, along with direct observation/evaluation.

A Coach who understands the Players and the system, they are capable of playing. Getting that system in place, for JV, Middle School and Youth programs. Stress fundamentals and repetition, of routine drills. Include strength training and plyometrics, to improve fast-twitch muscles. Like stated before, condition in the off-season and out work, anyone you play. Lastly, have passion for the game and the instruction.

Your registration fee includes admission to all clinic events/speakers, 2009 KHSBCA fee, Hall of Fame Luncheon and the coaches mandatory rules clinic. The clinic will go on Friday from 1-10 and Saturday from 8-5. The coaches meeting will be on Saturday at 11:15, the hall of fame luncheon at 12:00 and the rules clinic at 1:00. Then if it doesn't matter, then why do they play summer ball for the last 6 years. The reason is, to get better as a team and to face as many different styles of play possible. No one is disagreeing, they won't "bring the same game", as you say but playing better competition, makes any group better prepared for the different styles of play. I'll put it this way, did they play this type of competition before this talented group of young men developed....NO and that is the reason, they are playing in tournaments and this type of schedule.

He said the following.... He's also addressing the issue, of in-game Coaching and the schedule not helping you win/lose that game. If you never play a pressing team, that is quick but meet one in the Region or Sweet 16, it will certainly be an adjustment in-game, that both Players and Coaches will have to make.

To me, the biggest and most important aspect of scheduling, is finding teams that will make your team play out of their style. One aspect of strengthen any schedule, if the speed of some teams. You'll find many coaches, which are concerned with the lateral footwork and defensive speed of their opponent. It's impossible, to replicate that in practice.

Strong competition will certainly allow a team, to see different types of systems, quickness, heights and coaching. Getting to play several pressing teams, teams which play man and those which zone, are more important in developing your own talent. It really comes down to making your players, bring out their best ability and being able to play under pressure.

Let's get back on the path, of discussing the scrimmage, between two very good teams.

I would like to see this thread, more focused on Highlands and Whitley County. This is a 5A Semifinal match-up, between teams which deserve the discussion. All this unfair advantage and things, needs to be discussed in the Public/Private forum and not here. Let's get the focus back to the Players and upcoming game. :thumb:

They just played for a Regional Title and they should get rid of a coach, based off a 14-7 loss?

Same here and you guys, were a lot fun to watch a game with. It is mind-boggling, seeing some characters with badge.

Let's all get the focus back to discussing the Players/Game, between two very good teams and not the alleged comments.

They were behaving, had a great time with them....:thumb: This was a very physical game and numerous, hard hits both blocking and in tackling. Both teams were trading scores and then the fumble, made the margin two scores. Got to give a lot of credit, to Highlands offensive line for the time, they allowed the QB.
