  1. It appears he will give ALL the opportunity to be found.......You have referenced pieces of the passage below but lets look at the whole message. Remember, these words are straight from Christ. Matthew 7 1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. 6Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. 7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
  2. Acemona, I am not sure why it jumps out at me but I notice that in your posts you continue to refer to Christ as "JC" instead of Jesus Christ. Can I ask why that is? I am quite comfortable in my relationship with Christ but I feel we should be more reverent. I personally cant refer to Him so casually. He and I have a close relationship, striving to be closer I might add, but I dont feel right about being so chummy.
  3. Not only does this comment not have anything to do with this season, it has nothing to do with shooters post that it was in response to.............. If you think back over the past couple of seasons the system at Russell was more "restrictive" early in the season and the reins were loosed a bit as the season progressed. I know they didnt start running and gunning but there was more freedom to create on your own later in the year. I believe the system was so methodical early on for a reason. This teaches the team some discipline and forces them to come together as a team. As soon as they started buying in you could see the changes. Dodd lays the foundation early and builds on it as the kids get on board. The sooner they get on board this season the more they will be able to build.
  4. I will agree with this statement. I also believe that if we negotiate with our own heart in the right place the Lord will have my back and not let me be taken advantage of.
  5. Dear Lord in Heaven, please relieve ScooterBob of his overwhelmingly critical spirit. Amen
  6. To continue the hijacking........ Doc your last comment conjurs up memories of Burt Reynolds' character in "Striptease"? Covered in vaseline.......
  7. Doc your affection for Yak, popcorn and Bobby Hall is a bit disturbing. Seek help.
  8. I think everyone knows where this is going..............go ahead Maroon, give us the list on West Carter.
  9. I find it interesting that Ashland fans are not satisfied with Flynns accomplishments during his time there yet his W/L percentage upon leaving Ashland is nearly identical to what it was when he was hired by Ashland. His performance was good enough to be hired, he maintained the same level of success yet it was not good enough to be retained. I know he left on his own but you get my point.
  10. [ Why should RCHS officials agree to enrich AHS's coffers with nothing in return? Why do I oppose the game? I have stated my reasons in numerous other posts. In truth, there has been no common level of trust or respect between the schools since the "Ovinton Era". Nothing has happened, in my opinion, to heal that situation. and, in fact, a goodly number of incidents have occurred to widen the divide. I support no common athletic activity between the two unless forced to do so by tournament scheduling and that extends to all high school athletic teams. Just my opinion but an opinion based on a good knowledge of the facts and a good memory of the history of the "relationship". ScooterBob dont you think the type attitude these statements reflect is a poor one for the students, at both of these schools, to inherit? Wouldnt such a game open the door to help provide some much needed salve to help heal the situation? At this point in time it will require those in charge to offer some give and take on both ends and to act like adults that are charged with putting our YOUTHS best interest at heart before any such game can be played.
  11. In addition to limiting campaign spending, it should be against the law for any political ad to contain the name or likeness of the advertising candidates opponent. As already mentioned, it is too easy for a candidate to only share part of the story in an ad.
  12. I guess since Rondo is now a pro Lofton can step into the position:jump: .........
  13. I guess it is a moot point since UKCATSFAN is talking about his football association anyway..........Probably a topic worth discussing further but in another forum.
  14. My friend you are wrong if you believe money has nothing to do with it.....While the assigner may not directly effect the income of the schools he is a tool used by them to protect what they do have. If you dont believe me, investigate it a bit further.........find out who voted to rehire your assigner and see if they are not the ones with the most to lose. They want to make sure their schools are taken care of so they have to keep someone in the position of assigner that they can keep their thumb on. Keep in mind it is not too difficult to figure out which association in the state you are speaking. Not to many assigners do football and basketball.
  15. First let me say this......When I hear an official mention politics I immediately think they must be jealous of others. While I am not 100% sure this is not the case in your situation, I will say it seems like you are doing some good things in your association. I want to make a couple points..........1) Regardless of who the assigner is, there will be those that cannot be satisfied. 2)Your associations passing of the by-law has absolutely no power. As you discovered, your policy board simply ignored your input. Seems like the officals point of view in such matters is never a factor. 3) Politics is most definitley at work but maybe not where you think. Usually it is not so much the association members as it is policy board representatives. Simply follow the $$$$. I think you will find out that the policy board is simply out to protect their own interests.
  16. Our pastor is delivering a series of messages with the theme of being a "missions" minded church right here at home. A common theme each week is listening to the Holy Spirit as He will point out opportunities for you to share Christ and then having the courage to follow thru. A man in our Bible fellowship class mentioned that he had been burdened over a friend that he knew needed salvation. He mentioned it to a few others that he was looking for a way to reach this person so a suggestion was made to invite him to play some basketball at the church. His efforst were rewarded as the friend accepted the invite to play ball. God allowed the seed to be planted this night and he also made way for it to be watered, weeded and hopefully soon the crop will be harvested. On the very night this man came to play ball another church member injured his knee while playing. He was prescribed physical therapy for the injury. Guess who the therapist is........Thats right! The therapist is the very man they intended to witness to! Irony? I dont think so.......Sounds like Gods will to me.........Maybe would not have happened without the church's gym............. Matthew 4:19 "Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men"
  17. CATSFAN can we assume you belong to the association you speak of or are you an outsider looking in?
  18. No prob.............best not drive the Jeep tonight. Looks to get a bit cool tonight!
  19. 1st Olive Hill exit, turn left to follow US 60, go thru some sharp curves and you will pass the rock crusher on your right, after you cross Fields Bridge you will start uphill a bit and see the WC Middle School on your right, AFTER the Middle School drive take your next right, go thru a sharp curve then turn right again, you should see the school ahead on your left.
  20. So can I presume this makes you one of those "good ones" ?
  21. These comments sound like a disgruntled official to me. Someone who doesnt quite have the experience that the top officials in his association may have or that doesnt put in the effort they do over the long haul. A younger person who is trained to expect immediate reward and isnt patient enough to actually earn the schedule they THINK they deserve.
  22. Cubster is right on track........this kid will be kicking on Sundays in a few seasons. As many others have said, great kid, great parents. I hope all his hard work pays off.
