You seem to infer that if the fouls are called against RH the ref's are nitpicking but if they dont call fouls then they are letting Okora play too physical.......pick a side of the fence already. Its also interesting that you easily dismiss Raceland as they have already beaten West.

Eagle you say "there is a lot at stake in high school athletics". Could you elaborate just a bit? In my humble opinion too many folks have their priorities way out of line. If you believe so much is riding on the outcome of any high school sporting event you are one of those people. To play high school sports is a privilege not a right. It is a sideline to the entire purpose of high school. Granted some valuable lessons are learned from sports but I fear these days our children get more bad examples from sports than good. I LOVE high school sports but way to much importance is being placed on it. Speaking as a sports official, I expect the criticism and can seperate the constructive criticism from the childish whining of mommies and daddy's who have no knowledge of the rules. If you look up the definition of critic you will see that a critic is one who can give a "reasoned" opinion on any matter. If mommy and daddy would spend just a wee bit of time learning the rules of the sport Junior decides to play then maybe they wouldnt embarass themselves so often. The officials at which you are so quick to cast stones spend countless hours learning the rules, studying the rules and learning to enforce and interpret them. I dont expect the average fan to get so involved but atleast grab a rule book and hit the highlights. Who knows maybe Junior would appreciate you having a more informed opinion when you scream to the top of your lungs over a "mistake"..........Atleast you could save the kid some embarassment even if you dont care to look like a fool. Eagle I dont direct these comments specifically at you I am just speaking in general terms.

How many of you have ever heard a fan yell "He's reaching in"? Show me "reaching in" in a rule book..........

Previous posts have no bearing on this thread but if you will review them again you will see that my comments were not in support of officals. I merely pointed out to you in another thread that the very ones whoe credentials you questioned were in fact veteren officials. Just to clear the record it is not hard to figure out why I would support them but keep in mind stripes are worn in more than one sport. I admire the men and women who officiate any sport at any level. It is truly a thankless job. You are correct about not having enough of them. I hear that every sport would like to have more officals and especially basketball.One of these days when we badger them enough to quit and we dont have enough left to cover the games what will we do then? Wireman I am glad to hear you made the most of Saturday night. I notice on the KHSAA website that these two teams meet again on Monday 1/30. Just a heads up.......expect a big crowd. Try to get there a bit early. You may have to watch the JV game but I am sure you can get a seat in the expansive gym @ Elliott.

Wireman it seems that you too were a victim of poor planning. Someone who seems to be so in touch with basketball in this area would have surely known what type of crowd to expect. I had no desire to see the Rose Hill/Menifee girls contest but chose to arrive early so I would be sure to have both a seat and a parking place. If you would use that knot between your shoulders for more than a place to hang your hat you too could have had a seat. As for wasting a Saturday night...........again your own fault. More to do on Saturday than high school basketball. You already had the family with you, why not enjoy a pleasant dinner together at one the many fine restaurants in the area. Oh, my bad.......probably would have had to wait outside there too! Since you didnt see the game atleast we dont have to read all your posts about how poor the officiating was. Heaven knows you would have to blame someone else. Wait a second.......not seeing the game didnt stop you from hacking on the officials of the Boyd/Morgan game did it? You were standing outside Fairviews gym but still have an opinion on calls made in West Liberty on the same night. Amazing!

Redblood you must not see too many games in your area. If you do you would realize that the referee's on all games last evening are not only "official" as you put it but several of them have officiated some of the biggest games your team has played in the past several years. Obviously nobody can/will put much faith in your perspective since it is certainly not a well informed opinion.
