I like the idea. 1.Each April schools could have a meeting where scheduling is done to ensure each team plays an equal amount of home and away games. Everybody plays each other 1 times. 2. Each region would be handled like a conference. They could maintain a web site where they could keep the standings updated for the public. 3. All first round games would be played at the home of a lower seed. May be the need for play in games. 4. Once there are 8 teams left, play all the games at the same venue like just like the region is held now.

I agree Whodey!! Everyone in the 10th is playing for second. With Brossart in it. BGGreen you are right they did not win their first til 2001, but they have won 5 of the last 6. When you have the resources they have they sould be winning at that clip. I'm not putting them down at all. I hope they represent the 10th well at Richmond. But right now it's not much fun being a small school in the 10th when you have the Big Green Machine mowing every one down by 30 plus points.

The first round is Deming Vs. Nicholas and Harrison vs. Pendleton. My prediction is Deming and Harrison will meet in the finals and for the third time this season. I pick Deming to avenge the two earlier losses and come away with the Championship.

Another great game between these two rivals. Bracken's Jesse Hall hit two FT with 4 seconds in regulation to send it to overtime. Bracken hit their free throws down the stretch in overtime to pull out the win and move on to the semi-finals where they will play St. Pat. Deming played extremely hard and should have nothing to be ashamed of. They had to play without starter Billy Graves who hurt his foot in pre-game warm-ups. Freshman Nathan Mitchell steped in his spot and had 9 for the Devils. This game was tight throughout. Neither team could get no more than a 6 point lead throughout the game. Again, great game and good luck to Bracken the rest of the week.

According to my sources who were at the draw in April. Last April when they held the draw the teams decided the "play in game" should be held on Monday. If not then the winner would have had to play Tuesday and Wednesday. If they continued then they would have played Friday and then again on Saturday. All involved thought it only fair to move the game to Monday.

I have the answer!!! Why dosen't the 16th region play their girls tournament one week and then play the boys region the next week. This is what a majority of the regions do. This would solve the problem of the overcrowding in the finals.

BGGreen your information is wrong. Since Brossart did not meet the 1000 seat minimum that the 10th region All "A" schools voted on they decided to move it to Campbell Co. Middle School instead of stepping out of the rotation. Next year the tournament will be at Bracken County. It is NOT going to be at the CCMS gym the next five years. Rotation: Brossart (CCMS) 2006 Bracken Co. 2007 Deming 2008 Nicholas Co. 2009 Paris 2010 IF Brossart gets to have a say in the rotation, then why dosen't Augusta and St. Pat get a say also?

Brossart wanted to do the same with the CLass A Region again this year. The last time they had the region they had to turn people away. Even players that were to receive all tournament awards were turned away. Instead of being cooperative in this issue they had to have their arm twisted to move the semi-final and final to Campbell Co. Middle School next week for the boys. If this is the case then they should let Augusta and St. Pat decide where they want to have it when the rotation comes to them. I feel sorry for all the fans that will miss a classic on Friday because of poor preparation. WAKE UP BROSSART AND START DOING WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THE KIDS AND FANS!!!!!

Classic Rivalry game. Deming was up 24-20 at the half. Deming jumped out in the 3rd to a 15 point lead. Deming's big man Massey got in foul trouble when he went out Bracken began to score at will in the paint and cut the Deming lead to 2 going into the 4th. The 4th was nip and tuck the entire way and basically came down to who had the ball at the end. Travis Massey had a look from about 25ft at the horn that would have sent it to overtime that rimmed out. Congrats to Bracken on hard fought win!! Deming just can't seem to catch a break. That's their 5th loss by 9 or less. Congrats go out to Deming's Travis Massey who scored his 1000th point tonight. Being only a Jr. Travis will most likely end up being the number two all time leading scorer in Deming history by the time he is finished. Stephen Staggs is the all time leader with over 2000 points.

How are you going to win when you only have two starters show up and play Devilman? T. Massey and J. Massey have consistently showed up to play. I heard Hendrix has a foot problem that has set him back. But, where is Burns and Graves at? They haven't showed up in the last 4 games. I wasn't at the game but from the box score Burns had 0 and Grave had two free throws. I was told Grave shot enough to have 30 points. As big and strong as he is he should be attacking the glass but he just won't do it. Looks like Mitchell has been a pleasant suprise for Coach Massey. It's just a shame that there is not a bench for Massey to turn to.

NO!! For one Russ is not the caliber player Chris was. Also, think how many games Chris played in. He played in at least 30 postseason games. Could have been more. I don't know how many extra district games he had being in a 5 team district. I don't think Russ will get the chance to play in 10 state tournament games.
