  1. What do I know I'm just a 63rd District guy we draw for EVERYTHING!
  2. I'm sure they will all these kids grew up together and played AAU together. They are really close on and off the floor. I know he apologized to the team as a whole before the game and they were all "cool" :thumb:
  3. I personally like the draw it adds to the excitement leading up to district play.
  4. I saw Kasey refereeing some upward basketball games at Russell Christian this morning and he said that yes he would play the next game and that he was extremely sorry. He felt like he let his team down, he was really hard on himself. It was cool to see him giving all the little ones that were playing his autograph. I know that my "Little Blue Blazer" thinks that Kasey hung the moon.
  5. I believe that the 64th is a draw this year with Fairview and Rose Hill electing to draw while the BIG BOYS Ashland and Boyd Co. wanted to seed. 3 0f the four teams have to vote for seeding in order for the district to seed.
  6. Forget the 64th. The whole 16th Region is wide open!! Bath over Elliott, Elliott over Greenup Co., and Fairview. Fariview over Ashland, Boyd Co. over Ashland, and Russell. Russell playing super good, and really bad. Raceland over Rowan Co. twice and then Rowan over Elliott. Boyd loses 4 of 5!! Who is the clear favorite of the 16th Region.
  7. Tiny, Sorry to come off that way all I was trying to say is that this match-up was to feature the 16th Region's best offensive player vs. the 16th Region's best defensive player. I'm not trying to take anything away from Boyd Co. I have the utmost respect for their staff and kids. I just think Clark on Owens could have excited the game alittle bit.
  8. I believe this was Fairview's 1st ever win in 30 tries at James A Anderson. I'm sure Fairview has beaten the Tomcats before but victories for the Eagles are few are far between in this series. Congratulations to Coach Cooksey and the boys. This was a been win for Westwood!! :thumb:
  9. I believe it was Coach Dodd's decision to not play him after a drill in practice became a little too physical. There was no fight but I believe some tempers flared and Coach Dodd is an excellent disciplinarian and he nipped the problem in the bud before it became an issue. I understand that Clark apologized to the team and all the parties involved in the incident are just fine. Remember that January basketball is only good for getting your team ready for the March to Rupp!
  10. Kasey is a strong physical guard that averages around 7 points and 7 rebounds a game! He also makes big plays defensively. I'd say that could have been a difference in the game tonight. However I haven't seen the game yet I'll probably watch the tape this weekend!
  11. I look for the score to be alot different if Kasey Clark would have played for the Devils tonight. I do want to congratulate Boyd Co. on the win it is always good to beat the Team on the cover of the Preview!!
  12. WVA Boy, I'll take this Russell State Championship team over NCC any day. Russell was more physical and had a better running game and would in my opinion spread the NCC defense. I also think the Russell defense is better than you think. Remember also those kids know how to win 27-2 the past two years. I believe you are disrespecting the quality of 2A football alittle bit. Contrary to what you think Russell, Belfry, Ft. Campbell, DeSales and OCath, not to mention Newport, Mercer Co. are pretty darn good. Your comparision of Newport and NCC are a little invalid because at the end of the year that score would have been alot different. Newport was clicking at the right time and coming together under a new Coach. I don't think 1A fairs as well as you may think!!!!
  13. I have heard from a Boyd Co. football coach at church yesterday morning say that they will not lose any coaches due to this new indoor team. They will still be with the team.
  14. What are you guys talking about? Kasey lives down the street from Russell QB Tommy Brown.
  15. Ironton, OH Semi-Finals loss in OT to the Eventual Ohio Division 2 State Champs. The Tomcats had a great year!!! They also were in position to beat Ironton.
  16. CamFieldJunky, Clark led all rushers vs. Belfry, Scored 2 TD's, was the leading receiver, and broke the Pirates hearts with an INT at the 8 to seal the deal. Not taking anything away from the Pirates and their players, BUT HE (Kasey Clark) was the best player on the field that night. Also IMO I watched every one of his games this season and Clark was the best player on the field in every game this season! Ask Ashland, OCath, Newport, Mercer Co., Greenup Co., and Fleming Co. He changes the game with all of his play making abilities rushing, receiving, defense, special teams. He is one of the best players in the State.
  17. :thumb: Nice Post this certainly was a total TEAM EFFORT. Kasey said after the game that the line opened up some great holes and it was easy to run through. Als the Russell reserves and scout teams were a big part of success as they had to prepare the starters and push them week in and week out. :ylsuper:
  18. Tommy Brown QB, Drew Mell OL, Michael Schaffer OL/DL, Michael Horn RB/DB, Chad Edwards FB/DE, Derrick Timberlake LB, Josh Wills OL/DL Cameron Perry TE/DE. BIG LOSSES for the Devils they had an Amazing Career!
  19. Obviously, Another State Championship would be great ,and they don't come easy! I think it will be hard to replace the seniors of 2005. Anyway Kasey Clark and a company of others Jacob Sizemore, Tyler Jones, Ethan Gulllet, and Nick Lewis make a a good core returning both sides of the ball. However in JFL Kasey got the nickname of "HIGHLIGHT" and he lived up to that name on a HUGE STAGE last night! I'm HOPING that this area will put 3 or 4 teams at the Pizza Palace next year!!!!
  20. :thumb: I can't believe it still the season he had!!! Anyway don't know about Mr. Football, but in Russell they call him Mr. Touchdown! I think his goals may be anothe State Title and maybe make the All-State Team! :fight:
  21. Great win for Russell, and yeas congratulations is in order. I thought this was a complete team effort someone stepped up every series and make a tackle, deflected a pass, fought for the that extra inch that moved the chains, or just got a little lower and gave a little more push to gain a few more yards after contact. OCath is a excellent team that plays hard and not to mention fast. Anyway Great Job Devils you guys did this whole area of Northeasern KY proud. On the way home I had several calls from excited people from Raceland, Greenup Co.,and Boyd Co. That is what H.S.sports is all about. Supporting your kids from your area and rooting for your nieghbors. WE are all truly blessed to be in this community with great kids, fans, coaches, and parents!!!!!! :fire: CONGRATULIONS DEVILS 2005 AA STATE CHAMPIONS :dancingpa
