Clyde, I've agree with every post you have made in this thread. Congrats to Holmes, I hope they do well at Rupp. I'm looking forward to that potential second round match-up. These two teams are so evenly matched it's crazy. Play 10 times and it's 5-5 for sure. Holmes did a great job on McFarland, he really struggled tonight. Give me ten Andrew Brown's any day of the week. He has been the difference in this team since he was inserted in the starting lineup. Got to feel for him on that last shot. Gabbard did a great, great job on Riley. I think he's the better PG. Rico is a flat out stud. Both coaches did a fantastic job. Holmes ran just as much, and maybe more, clock than Boone. Where are the Holmes fans that complain about stall ball? It certainly wasn't stall ball either way, but it is a little ironic. Bring home a title to the 9th !

Boone plays very physical D and did a great job on Rico in the first meeting. He's good and I know you are just making a point, but the winner of this game will most likely have under 50 points total.

For a little while the HHS coach was yelling "and one" on every Highlands attempt. I was across the court about 15 rows up and it was a topic of conversation among everyone in the section. It was very annoying.

You are right. Maybe "down the stretch" wasn't enough credit.

Mcfarland made some silly, silly mistakes today. He played awesome down the stretch, but Brown carried the team today.

It's also somewhat disrespectful to say that Boone winning by 10 points is wishful thinking, but you said it anyways right? I somewhat agree with the statement, at times Holmes looks disinterested.

Mcfarland played well down the stretch, but he had a bad game up until then. Brown was easily the best player on the floor for Boone today, easily.

I think he was in for a couple of possessions, that's it.

Who guarded Rico for Boone in the first game? Brown?

:thumb: Gabbard played very well against Holmes in the first meeting, outplaying Riley for the majority of the game. Boone will need him to bring his A-game for them to beat Holmes again.

I saw the play from the same side the female referee did and it looked like they were all over Mcfarland. Boone County had the possession arrows anyways. I will disagree with you that she was showboating.

Shoot, if Holmes only beat them by 8 then Boone will for sure win right? If you are going to play the weak "who beat who by how much" game, at least play it right.

I can't see Holmes blowing them out. Being a former Rebel player, I have to pick BC in this one. I look for both teams to press some, should be a fun game to watch.

I wasn't part of the discussion, but my understanding has always been that it is goal tending if the refs feel it changed the shot.

They were bad both ways. I do agree that the charging call against Highlands was awful, but I could name 9 or 10 awful calls in that game.

^Complaining about the refs? Seriously? There were missed calls on both sides. #44 for Highlands could have been called for throwing elbows several times.

Boone's press was the difference in the game. Highlands led 20-16 at the half and the Rebels scored 17 in the third quarter to take a 33-32 lead. Andrew Brown led all scorers with 18 points, he played a great game.

:thumb: The 9th region is never about style points. Low scoring games are very common.

There's no more time to get better. They need to play with that intensity EVERY game, or they will be gone soon.

This could be the end of them eventually.
