Looks like Breathitt continues to struggle

Looked like he just got grabbed and slammed to the floor from our section. No one said intentional. But I did see no. 1 jump up and stand over Blake as he lied on the floor and Kinser had to pull him away from the area. Just a hard played game.

Yes Estill is still undefeated in district play. Lee has 2 losses, Powell 3 losses. not sure about Owsley record they have not won any games in the district just do not know how many they played

I dont think you get it . I wasn't referring to the professor. I responded to Memorial Gym. I just didn't want to complain about the refs and not give Hazard thier due.

I respect Hazard and Al a ton and I am not trying to take anything away from them. They played a good game and dererve to win.

Lee had the ball with 30 seconds to go and called time with 21 seconds left and threw the ball in and the pg threw to Lee's center 35 foot away from the goal to start the play Lee's was going to run. The center was hacked hard twice across both arms out at the top in front of erveryone and on the third whack the squirted up in the air. Hazard recovered with 15 secoonds left dribbled and passed it around backcourt to avoid a foul and with 2.8 got the ball across half court and was fouled. 10 seconds anyone. Oh well it was a good game and Hazard played hard and hit big shots. I hope Hazard goes all the way and crushes JBS in the finals. Al is a master. Those calls hurt only because of the timing. Hazard won the game fair and square.

Breathitt just got blowed out by South Laurel this past Saturday in London and it was ugly. Center Travis Smith went down with an injury, I do not know the extent of his injury and I hope it was nothing to worry about.

I have to agree with you Prof. it is a good rivalry. I have never been treated poorly at Owsley. I think both programs are small schools and tend to feel a kinship for each other when they play other teams. Now Powell seems to be Lee most heated rival with silly incidents the past three years. Hopefully that is all in the past. I believe Owsley can thank alot of thier class behavior on the fine example you have set over the years. Thanks Prof.

We are talking about symantices here. I may have not used the technical words or process as I was talking generalities, But a school has a whole lot of influence on thre process and I do not think you are implying a school has no involvement outside of processing a form. A school can appeal. If I am not mistaken this process may take a quite a while. I can remember a student at Hazard having to get a court order to play during the process as to not lose thier senior year of eligability, because of the appeals process not being quick.

The rule in question was change of address. The kid we were talking about did not change address, he had always lived in Lee County and that was Owsleys bone of contention. That the student did not change adresses. Maybe it is symantics we are talking about on the paperwork. But to say a school losing a student/athlete has nothing to do with thier futeure eligabilty is quite a stretch. So technically you are correct on the checking of boxes but other information can be provided. As someone stated earlier about incorrect information I have not said anyone provided any information incorrectly at all. I do not believe anyone did anything wrong or illegal or anything like that. I am just trying to say these are kids and when you take a year of eligability away they can never get it back. I hope we can always do what is best for the kids and keep personal agendas out of the process.

I know for a fact that the Congleton kid was not released by the officials at Owsley. A hearing was to be scheduled and the parents chose to relocate him to Breathitt instead of a hearing. I do not know what happened to his eligablity at Breathitt. I have also been involved in players transferring away and we released the student to play the next year. So I have personally seen both ways of a transfer being handled.

I agree. Also look at the others who have transferred in. I don't blame Owsley for fighting for thier transfers but remeber it goes both ways. I was hoping the Noble kid would get eligable, because his transfer is for family reasons and he should have been allowed by Breathitt to play. Remember it is the kids who lose a year of high school ball and they can't get it back. Adults should think of the kids in these matters and forget thier personal agendas.

Schools do have the option as to whether to oppose a transfer or not. They can fill out a form in opposition and then a hearing is scheduled to determine eligability. Most schools don't oppose for the kids sake but some do. This year Owsley chose to oppose the Congleton kids transfer first to Lee Co.(the county in which he did reside and had for most of his life) then when he went to Breathitt.

Lee goes on the road and continues to struggle. Defense is really struggling except for about a 4 minute spurt where Lee was trapping, KCC did as they wanted. This team is better than they are playing. I am sure Caoch Wright will figure this out and have the Bobcats playing better tournament time.

Explain how Powell has been involved in 10 of top 19 games with the most free throws attempts in the history of Kentucky high school basketball. It is statiscally impossible, but since it couldn't be the same refs (even though I can think of one 14th ref that seems to be always involved). What is your thoughts on any explanation. Maybe when teams teams get off the Mountain Parkway at exit 22 they just get mad and play is rougher at Powell than at any other gym in Kentucky. Maybe that's it cause it couldn't be the refs. If you read the rest of my thread you would also have noted some other reasons for the loss besides the part you decided to quote and respond to.

Wow! Its seems that the Bobcats are coming apart at the seams. I hope they get everything back together before its to late. This was a very talented bunch of kids and could of went a long way.
