Round 2 tomorrow night! Franklin County cruised through round #1 of District play by an average winning margin of 38 points. The first time these two played it was 86-52. Will it be different this time?

I like Franklin County in this one. They have started to click since the return of Deron Hicks. They have cut down on their turnovers, and have been playing some great defense. The absolutely demoralized their crosstown rival Western Hills on Friday night, who had won six straight and been playing pretty well. FC 72 Dunbar 64

You can't tell your last 5 kids on the bench not to shoot or not to play hard. Joe Schmo needs to work harder.

The Franklin County starters played about 3/4 of the 3rd quarter and didn't play in the 4th quarter at all. The score at the end of the 3rd was 69-32. Western Hills threw the ball all over the gym. The last 5 minutes of the game FC had their Freshmen point guard and 4 post players in the game. They kept getting steals and finishing at the other end.

TOTAL DOMINATION!

Western Hills is a team that has talent, but haven't played up to their level of talent yet. They have been playing well lately. After starting 1-4, they have won 6 straight. Should be a pretty good game. If County wins they become the team to beat in the district. If Hills wins there will be three team tie at the top. All that said I think County will win. I am not sure of the situation, and I don't want to speculate. All I will say(under the BGP rules) is that it is not injury related.

I was told that he will start playing Friday. He did not play last night, but was there in street clothes with the team.

Big win for the Flyers. They dominated the second half. Woodford scored 4 points in the 3rd quarter and 7 in the 4th. Good win! Flyers go to 2-0 in the District.

11th without question!!! The 7th is good, but just look at the top Ballard vs. Scott County. I believe that game was a blowout!!!!!!

Consolation Final is Elizabethtown vs. Central Hardin.

He is not starting. They started Matthews, Carter, Minnis, Chambers and Cochran. Wade came off the bench.

Both of the teams have looked really bad so far. They might finish in a tie. I think Western Hills has talent and had a lot of returning talent, not sure what their problem is so far. Frankfort has a lot of athletes, but it hasn't turned into basketball ability yet. That said, I think Hills will win this one by 5.

They need a heavy dose of an offense. The didn't run anything. It appeared to be the first man to see daylight, let it fly.

Barrett had 13 tonight to lead them in scoring. He started slow, but has started knocking down shots the last two games(13 vs. Frankfort and 16 vs. Boyle County).

Franklin County dominated this one. They look like the team to beat in the 41st!

Franklin County's freshmen have already beaten Lexington Catholic and Scott County.

FCHS 72 FHS 54 My prediction. What does everyone think?

Franklin County has to be up near the top. They just installed a new state-of-the art system at the end of last season. Before it sounded like a McDonald's Drive Thru, but now it is loud and clear!

FCHS came out flat and trailed 25-13 at the end of the first, but stormed out of the gate in the 3rd quarter. They outscored Boyle 27-8 in the 3rd and the game was out of touch from that point on.

They will be competitive and is probably the favorite in the 41st district. They have 7 seniors, and 2 sophomores(1 is hurt, but should return in about 2 weeks) who will play most of the varsity minutes. They lack size, but they have speed, and good team chemistry. Most of the seniors have played together since elementary school, and they saw a lot of minutes last season. They lost their first two games to ranked opponents(Clark County & Holmes), but showed signs of being a good team in both. They need to cut down on turnovers and second chance points if they are going to make it very far in the 11th region.

Any info? A little surprised by this one!

Sloppy Game, but good win for the Flyers. Andrew Fields had a big game for the Flyers with 18 points and at least 10 boards. Kaelin Ammons had some great assists for the Flyers. However, it was the little man, Ryan Todd, who came up huge down the stretch. He hit a 3 from the corner with 7 seconds left to tie the game up, and hit 3-4 free throws in OT to win it.
