Rupp is bigger and is a Central location in the state. Mason is bigger and is a Central location in the region. The only team that benefits from the 2 team rotation is Montgomery because every other year it's at home for them. Campbell or Pendleton get nothing out of having the region in at Montgomery County except a longer drive. IF there was a rotation or a neutral court that would be great. There isn't. I can't support moving the region to benefit Montgomery County and Clark County(with a shorter drive) and noone else. People keep saying "what's fair for the kids" and it isn't moving the region to Montgomery County.

I've been to the ninth several times and the tenth several times being a Campbell County grad. The tenth is much better. Maysville booms for a few days and everywhere you go you can feel the excitement. Watching a game at the Fieldhouse is fantastic. Nothing like sitting courtside or behind the coaches when the place is full.

Noone is trying to tell you that. The thing is is most of the people who have posted in these threads in support of the Fieldhouse aren't even Mason fans or residents.

I agree!!!! Maybe Mason County can start practicing and playing in a smaller gym and someone will hold the key to the Fieldhouse until March. Or Montgomery County can build a gym in Maysville that's bigger so they can host the Region!!!!!

1. Not enough. 2. All of those reasons can been stated simply as, "We don't want Mason to host the tenth every year and we'll waste tax payer dollars in order to make that happen." The KHSAA doesn't have a say, I believe it's a region wide vote.

Kane Belcher is 6'8" is a good ball handler, shooter, scorer, and even a better passer. That sounds like potential to me.

You are misinformed. It's maybe 2 miles from Newport on Carouthers road in Newport to Cincinnati and it's 24.41 miles from my parents house to there. I used to work there and it never took me more than 30 minutes to complete the drive. My parents house is .9 miles to the CC line on 27. It's about 25 or 26 miles tops from PC to the river.

Boss Dunaway road to Falmouth is 12 minutes at about 65. The fastest I remember making it is 9 minutes. From BD to Provident Bank in Alexandria the fastest I've ever made it is 12 minutes. Leaving the bridge in Falmouth and crossing main street in Alexandria is not 20 minutes. My 2 fastest combined times aren't 20 minutes and both times I was driving fast enough to lose my license. Maybe the High School to the VFW in 20 minutes, but not to the city limits. I once made it to downtown Cincinnati in less than 20 minutes from PC but that didn't make it a 20 minute drive.

According to mapquest it's 1 hour and 22 minutes. Goodness lead foot, next vacation I go on can I follow you somewhere? :laugh:

So they should be in two for what reason? This doesn't balance out fairness for anyone other than Montgomery County.

I'll say drive five over the speed limit and you won't make it. I grew up in PC and live real close to Scott. It take me 10 minutes to get to Scott, 45 minutes to my parents house, and 45 minutes to get to the Harrison County gym from my parents house. I'd say it's at least 80 minutes and I rounded up. I drive fast too. I'm not sure your spedometer is working!!!

I am a Campbell County and Pendleton fan. I started the thread, there were several last year. I think the region should stay at Mason. Any more theories on my motivation?

I think the people at Mason have more "holding the region" experience. A lot of kids want to play in the Fieldhouse for the regional crown. That's the tradition I was refering to.

You can't get to Harrison County from Northern Ky in 50 minutes. From CCHS it's about 45 minutes so from Scott it would be at least 1 1/2 hours. However, it would be a good location if facilities were available.

Factor in size, experience, tradition, parking, and nearby aaccomodations then Maysville seems like the logical place to have it.

In one of the former posts on this subject someone did the mileage from each school in the district to Mason and it's pretty close to being Central. They proved that it was as central a location as you can get.

I would think the 9th would use NKU every year.

Any gym is capable so if we are using size as the only factor than Mason it is. If a GIANT place is selling out and filling up, I can't understand moving to a smaller facility. Campbell County has 2 gyms, but they aren't attempting to hold the region there. They could charge at both facilities and make a killing. Neither gym is big enough, but the Fieldhouse opponents want a fair level playing field so I say CC should host it. They could even set up a big screen at the girls gym at the middle school so people who don't get in can watch. Had Pendleton hosted the region they would have won it last year (most likely) so I think they should get their chance. I disagree with almost all of what I said and and I think it should stay at the Fieldhouse.

Can we then move it North every once in a while? NKU has a gym and Pendleton, Brossart, Campbell, Silver Grove, and Scott are within 1/2 hour.

My thoughts are keep it at Mason because it's central, big, plenty of parking, hotels, restaurants, and it's tradition. Also, if it's at Montgomery County, which isn't as qualified to host the region for the reasons mentioned above, why can't Brossart or Silver Grove have it when it's "there turn?" If Montgomery gets it based of "fair play" then every other school should get the chance to host. If you build it they will come was a fictional line in a fictional movie. Since it isn't fair that Mason hosts every year doesn't mean it will be fair to anyone other than Montgomery County if they rotate years. I could care less about either team or school, but as to where I want to go, THE FIELDHOUSE!!!!

If they allow 5000 in then where do the other 1000 go? They probably don't bother because it's a 2 hour drive instead of an hour drive. That's the biggest two problems with Montgomery County's new gym. It's not a Central location and it isn't big enough.

Yes Mason is a VERY central location in the region.
