  1. Some. How about his career? How about at UK?
  2. UK doesn't run, and Tubby turns out very few pros. I'd say both are 100% accurate.
  3. And how can 2 first rounders in 10 years compete with that?????????? It can't and other than Meeks, nobody at UK right now even has a legitimate chance at being a first rounder.
  4. Are you kidding? You have to be kidding. KY walks it up at every opportunity. Unless it's an uncontested lay-up they don't look to push. Look at Florida and tell me Billy D doesn't put them in the pros. Look at Pitino or Calhoun. These guys put guys in the pros. They get pro talent, then develop it to pro skill. OTS gets pro talent and (Randolph Morris, Jason Parker, and Marvin Stone). Is he directly to blame? He recruited them so he must have liked them. They all were projected first rounder picks out of high school. Yet??????????? What happened?
  5. If they both come to UK I will again be a "Tubby Supporter." Both signing would lead me to believe UK is back on the right track with recruiting which is and always has been my biggest issue even when they were winning (not final 4's but winning). As far as "putting people in the pros".......... Tubby has had 2 first round draft picks in his UK tenure. That's 1 every five years. Stack that up with some other school. Didn't UNC have like 5 or 6 in one year? They have at least 2 on the team right now, probably 3 or 4. How can non-NBA talent compete? Simple.... It generally can't. There are exceptions, but the best players typically win more games.
  6. I've watched him. I know the difference between a good PF (UNC has 2 that are both 10 times better) and Bobby Perry. Defending his "talent" is a joke man.
  7. Simmons is a liability anymore. I always thought Bengal fans overrated him a bit. He was solida few years, but nothing special IMO.
  8. Did this thread make it 15?
  9. We haven't agreed on anything since football season. I guess that's the CCHS/Brossart in us!!!! However, I agree that Carter is never going to live up to Kentucky standards. He's not good enough to be anything but a disappointment.
  10. Which is one of the reasons I don't ever point to the C-Lo arguement when TBing. I don't blame Tubby for that. I do blame him for recruiting some of the in-state guys.
  11. ..."I know it's a tough job, probably the toughest job in college basketball as far as coaching," Perry said. "We know the pressures that come with that job. He's very qualified for what he does. He wouldn't be in this position if he wasn't." Actually Bobby you aren't qualified to start at the 4 at UK yet here you are.
  12. If we had 3 Crawford's one would score a lot every game. Out of 2 Morris' one would be prepared. The talent level at KY is lower than these 2 players. They are clearly better than the rest (Meeks will be there) of their teammates. Flaws????????????? Of Course, but if we had that much talent in our starting lineup we wouldn't lose 10 gamea.
  13. Coaches publicly saying their job is safe and secure is usually a good sign that it's not.
  14. If KY wins it all I will literally eat a crow. I prefer it cooked, but I'll eat it. If they go to the Final 4 I will never second guess Tubby again. If they lose in the first or second round I'll get on BGP and talk about how bad Tubby is.
  15. 3 Crawford's and 2 Morris' would beat KY's starters by 50.
  16. I'm not sure what you didn't agree with. I agree that Reggie Hanson isn't Billy Donavan or Tubby Smith and I think it needs to be fixed.....Last year.
  17. I'm one of the 8-10 who always posts, yet I didn't post regularly in the college forums until last week/two weeks ago. Last year Tubby addressed that there were problems with recruiting. He said there would be major changes in the off-season last year. They fired the S&C coach. Not sure about you, but that ain't major changes. Why isn't that Tubby's fault? It's his responsibility to have top notch assistants. Right? With the money Tubby makes he could personally pay an assistant 75 grand a year. However, I'm sure UK would spring for a couple of top notch recruiters. IMO replacing the assistants would be better than firing the head coach because firing the head coach would hurt the team in the near future. However, (again) Tubby made it pretty clear in doing nothing last off-season that nothing is going to happen this off-season. Why didn't this happen last year? I've always had a problem with OTS's recruiting. I think KY should bring in AT LEAST 1 McDonald's All-American every year, typically more. That has never happened under OTS and won't happen under OTS. It works......
  18. I was a Tubby supporter but saw flaws for a long time. I would question but never bash. Now I really think he needs to go. It just seems that there is always a "what if" with Tubby. I think KY needs to run and recruit McDonald's All Americans every year. IMO that's the way to be top 10 just about every year and it also gives you a good chance to win it all every year. People are down with the Jrs, but if we had 4 classes that good we'd be legit right now.
  19. You ane mobaar have had great posts!!!! My biggest concern is the lack of change. It's like he doesn't want to fix his flaws because that would require him admitting some fault.
  20. All are good points, but if Tubby stays and JL and PP are no shows we're a mess for a few years IMO. Right now a good coach could keep the freshman, Bradley and Crawford would at least be back next year and hopefully recruiting would be GREAT in 08!!!
  21. What pro league is Joe Crawford going to? Seriously why would he leave UK for the NBDL. He wouldn't get drafted, he might not even get a 10 day. He's a tweener with something to prove and college is where he has to prove it.
  22. Morris would leave and this years recruits would probably leave (or not sign PP and JL), but I'd say the rest of the team would stay if Tubby stepped down. We'd have a "down" year next year(15-20 losses) but I think we'd rebound with the right coach after that. Huggins was loved by his player and I think Tubby is liked by his players, but if he was loved they'd play a little harder for him.
