Exactly right there. Keemosabee surely does burn alot of money. I thought "wampum" was something illegal. All I know is that I do have a copy of said program right in front of me. I will venture out with my opinion. When I am in the wrong, I will accept it like a Man. But when the facts are cold and hard in my favor please accept as such...

I never got any info on the Coach Cobb issue from anywhere. I merely had not read that article. I have now, and see his decision a little clearer. Thanks for the link. Also, another issue you brought up was my mis-information on Sharpe. I formed my Opinion of Sharpe playing quarterback as a result of his profile in the 2003(I'll Check)SWHS football program where it mentioned he played Football and Basketball at SHS. I guess it was mentioned in jest and I took it for real. I am always open for the real facts. So did Sharpe play football as his profile states or was he an announcer(as some say). All I know is that he has coached around alot and I thought he would be a reasonable choice for Somerset as he was an Alumni(and I thought he played quarterback on the football team). Just trying to commend...Not condemn...In checkin I errored. That was the 2001 SWHS Football program whe he stated he was a had played football...

I do know Coach Cobb. I am glad that he decided to stay at Somerset. The objection I have to his issue is that he make public his decision to take the job at Henderson via several media outlets. Since his change of mind, he has made NO media statement concening such. I think that he owes it to the public, friends and foe...As far as kicking him in the teeth, as Jeepman implies, is only to be expected when one does not justify his actions openly as he did (Coach Cobb) when he decided to leave Somerset... Furthermore, I feel that this Board, forums, and threads are explicitly designed for us to expess our Opinions in a legitimate way...:thumb:

So were the Somerset Briar Jumpers. Good passing tourney for our Kids. The Warriors went 5 wins before losing to a powerful South Carolina team. All the Staff at UK were helpful and extended great hospitality. In the Lineman competion SWHS finished 3rd in the field of probably 20 entrys. A great day loaded with lots of fun...:thumb:

Our last passing tournament tomorrow at UK. Should be a good one. Our Warriors have really had an active last 3 weeks. With trips to EKU,Purdue, Vandy. and WKU. Alot of individual players have also attended speciality camps. It has been a blast. The team has really progressed and had alot of fun in the process. Southwestern's is very proactive program with great support from it's Booster Club, Administration, Alumni, and Fan base...We have really enjoyed this year's Passing Tourneys, as they all have been well staffed and very professional. Thanks to "ALL" involved...:thumb:

What is going on at Somerset? Seems as if there is alot of distraction. We will find about the field at the Ray Correll Bowl. We(SWHS) will be the 1st game against Rockcastle Co.:thumb:

Part of being a coach is also; love of the game, loving to teach, and loving the youth. Quick, unthoughout hard decisions made, then reversed effecting others is a detriment to all involved. Good sound decision making is a definite part of being a coach...:thumb:

I want to express the need for ALL to keep an eye out for HEAT STROKE and EXHAUSTION during these summer passing tourneys and camps. This last Sat. at WKU one of our kids suffered Heat Stroke(Tyler Pickarel). Symtoms were not immediately noticed until after we ate. He became ill on the ride home. Quick thinking by Coach Anderson and his staff got Tyler to the hospital in Glascow. Immediate care was administered by the Hospital Staff. His temp was 105 and not responding to treatment. He was then air-lifted to Cossair Childrens Hosp. in Louisville where he remains today. I am happy to report that there is a possibility that Tyler will be released tomorrow under strict restrictions. So once again I must mention for you all to keep an eye open for one another and " Coach A", thanks for saving Tyler's life...

The only Louisville team I recall was Male, and I know they were a fair team. I believe I heard that there were 24 teams entered and yes the Tenn. team was an excellent team. The event was played at the WKU intramural field, as work was being done at at the WKU stadium. The event was well managed by the WKU staff and the heat became devasting as the day went on. All in in all, it was a good outing and to be highly recommended...:thumb:

I heard saturday that Steve Sharpe, an assistant coach at Dunbar, has applied for the Somerset Head Coaching job. Sharpe has been around for years assisting at Southwestern, East Jessimine, and Dunbar. He is also a Somerset grad who starred at quarterback...He is a Somerset resident and relocating would not be a problem...:ylsuper:

Lets hope it does not adversly the Jumpers. Those Kids have grew to rely on Coach Cobb. I guess they will adjust. I hope so...:thumb:

He officially is no longer a football coach. He teaches at SWHS and if I were looking I would try to entice him. There is no relocating problem nor is there a problem with his ego. Has always been respected by the kids he has coached. I think that if he were approached he possibly could be interested. I would hate to see him across the field as he is a good coach...

He is still at SWHS and was coaching Track. Also he was Defensive coodinator...

Edwin Allin of Southwestern is a good candidate, as he is no longer assistant Head Coach at SWHS... His experience at SWHS for 9 years makes him a very good prospect for the cross town rival Somerset...:thumb:
