  3. Game time we here just long enough to give everyone SARS.
  4. So we aren't among your favorite buddies? :-(
  5. RTS is doing the chicken dance on our table... ...NAKED! Cops being dispatched.
  6. This thread is for in-party updates and discussion only. All other discussion will be summarily dismissed and their originators mercilessly thrashed!
  7. RTS and I will be the lovely couple who arrived at 5:00 to hold down the fort. :thumb:

  9. You know my real name. Should I be frightened? Seriously though, that sounds fine. Once we get there, we'll tell them we are the BGP group and people can just ask for that. Thank you so much for working to arrange that for us! :thumb:
  10. I don't know if they have an actual "bar" area in the restaurant. I believe they have a few TV's, but you probably won't be able to hear them over all the talking, yelling and oompah band.
  11. That would be fantastic! If we could get into the back room it would be perfect. In there, you can hear each other talk and there isn't all the chaos of the main room.
  12. It's tentatively scheduled for the next day.
  13. Why wouldn't any program want to use a proven system that works? They wouldn't if they already have a proven system that is far superior. I was trying to be tactful, but that's the honest truth. I don't know whether he would try to change the system, but it stands to reason that any new coach is going to bring his own ideas and his own ways to his team. That's his right as head coach. But like I said, if it ain't broke, no need to fix it. And no, if he takes what we have here and "Boyles" it away, that would be like trying to reinvent the wheel -- maybe it works and maybe it crashes. But hiring from within maintains the continuity of not just a system, but a culture that has produced undeniable success. If you promote someone who has literally grown up immersed in that system and culture, it seems much more likely that the train will just keep on chugging down the tracks.
  14. No need to feel defensive. I mean that Boyle had/has a system and Highlands has one. I don't think the powers that be in Ft. Thomas will see any need to switch from the current one to that which Chuck Smith might bring in from Boyle County.
  15. This says it perfectly. Absolutely no offense to Chuck Smith and all that he has accomplished, but if Highlands wanted to do things the way Boyle County did them, they would go with Coach Smith in a heartbeat. The big blue engine ain't broke, so there's no need to fix it...or replace it. Prince Brian Duke of Woodfill will most certainly ascend to the throne this coming season. And all the kingdom shall rejoice and make most merry!
  16. Thank you for calling me a "sympathizer." I consider it one of the highest compliments you can pay a person. But the word should actually be "empathizer."
  17. Well said! 100% accurate on all points. :thumb: People need to understand that PTSD is not just about war. PTSD can arise from any traumatic situation that exceeds a person's ability to cope. You don't have to be some gung ho Colonel Jessup type to be stricken with the condition. A helpless little girl can be affected just as easily, and just as tragically. It is the very attitudes and misconceptions that we've seen expressed here that are keeping us from helping more men and women with PTSD. There is this myth that it doesn't exist, and that all the debilitating symptoms are simply a sign of weakness or poor character. That is nonsense, and we need to shed light on the truth! Here's a link to an article about a real Iraq hero who lost his life to PTSD. It speaks for itself: http://www.armytimes.com/article/20080703/NEWS/807030320/Medic-in-famous-photo-dies-after-PTSD-struggle
  18. Dude, there is not much any of us can say for you. I will ignore your attacks on me, as I can see they come from a disturbed place. I wish you well. And since you appear to be uninformed on the matter, I will share with you that PTSD, in all its many presentations, has been around as long as there has been war.
  19. Nah, it's an option on Google maps. You should be safe.
  20. Somebody want to help him with this? If I give the directions, he's liable to end up in Canada!
