In 2005 in the 2nd round of the playoffs we played St.X . We were at Manual Stadium . This was my oldest sons senior year. A week before, he was listed as all dist. and all region. He was ,in his head ,on the top of the world. We lost to a good X team that ended up state champs. It took my son and 3 or 4 other seniors a half hour to pull their faces out of the turf . This broke my heart and to this day it chokes me up to think about that November night. All I could tell him is that he and his teammates left it on the field.And keep his head up. He was not as sad of losing as he was knowing it was all over . After picking him up from the locker room I told him how proud that I and the rest of the family was of him. And how much we love him. Now I have one that is playing freshman ball . Just 3 more years until he will hang up his pads. ...... You know,,, I don't think it will be any easier for either of us in 2011.

This time of year for me is always exciting and sad. It being playoff time your usually hoping that your team is jelling at the right time. Or you know that there is only two games left for not just your team, but also the seniors last time putting the colors, that he has proudly worn for four years.Or since he was going to the games and playing the halftime game in the end zone,or the patch of grass by the bleachers. I myself am from Meade co.. I bleed green. Meade is my favorite team. I love seeing kids that I've known since they were babies, playing ball on Friday nights . But there are kids on every team in the state that were babies at the same time. Someones son, nephew, brother, or freind. They all have the same people who love them and their school more than any other. Some,about 3 pecent, will get to play football at another level next year . But most will play their last game in two weeks. What I want to say is "THANK YOU SENIORS" for representing your schools, and be proud of what you have accomplished. In 20 years you will never have to wonder "what if I had played fooball?" and I will tell you something else, You will be proud that you did. As we as Family and freinds and fans are of you now. QB JL CANNADY LB,C, Chris Roe RB Alex Furnival JL is being recruited by several schools. He has a good arm and he is not afraid to tuck it and take off. Chris Roe is a player on offense . On defense he is a warrior. All over the field, leads the team in about every catagory. Including making kids slow to get up. He will be at Western next year. Alex is not a big kid but he is hard to get down because he never quits using his legs. JL and Crhis were all region as juniors and all state hon. mention. We have 7 kids who have caught 15 or more passes for the season. Leading the way is tightend Nick Stinnet. He has 10 Tds this year 3 rush, 7 receiving. He is also being recruited by several D1 schools.

Meade should win this game. I think that Woodfords record is deceiving. The teams that Woodford has beaten go 4-5, 2-7,6-3,3-6, 2-8, 0-9,2-7 and Johnson Central who is 8-1 for combined record of 27-49. Every team except JC that thay have beaten has had a down year. Meade's opponents combined record is 51-33 . Meade's defense will give the Jackets fits. With a balanced attack of the run 1356 yrds. and the pass 1432 yrds. Meades offense should prevale too. Turnovers and field position will be the key to this game. If Meade plays defense like they have been they should be ok. Not ready to give a prediction just yet, give me a couple days.

Meade started out flat in this one . Conner was moving the ball well in the first series . Conner miss a 38 yaed field goal on the opening drive. Meade blocked a punt and ran it in 57 yards for a touchdown in Conners 2nd. series and it was all Meade after that. Conner scored with 11 seconds left in the game with all of Meades starters out. JL Cannady passed for over 200 yards and Meades backs rushed for around 150. I hope Meade will be up for the challenge of going to play a good Woodford Co. team next week. GO GREEN!!!

Every team that Meade has played this year had a size advantage.

We are not the strongest or fastest kids,but we have a bunch that know the fundamentals of team football. Our defense has given up less than 45 yards rushing and and 70 yards passing in its last five games lead by #54 Chris Roe . Center ,Linebacker,Kicker, are his main position . He can get his defense fired up and they will not let up until the clock says :00. A senior ladened team, Meade has the expeirence of going to the states simi's with the same team last year. On offense Meade has passed and ran for over 1300 yards this year . No back has over 340 yards rushing ,no receiver has over 370 yards receiving. J L Kannedy throws a good ball and can run it if needs be. Team football , 11 to the ball , and a love for each other and for the GREAN WAVE NATION is Meades main strenth. :thumb:

Meade is comming off a good win against N.Hardin for five wins in a role. Conner has a young team that seems to be getting better each week. Those northern Kentucky schools beat up on each other for most of the season and seem to do well when they travel out into the state. Meade is riding a big wave after beating Owensboro and North Hardin the last two weeks . Should be a good one . Meade 31 Conner 10

Meades defense was tough again . North had 546 total yards until the last series . North ended up with 106 total yards for the game . Meade end up with 224 yards rushing and 111 pasing for a total of 336. KEEP IT UP GREEN !!!!!

My wife and I get on the Harley 3 or 4 time a year and ride down there to eat ya'lls burgoo and pull pork. I also hunt down in Dundee and accidently end up at Moonlight sometimes.

I think Owensboro beat us last year 21-3 ,. Last year is last year. You will have to waite and see the score to Apollo - Owensboro later in the season to even get a clue about comparing teams this year. Greenwood beat Meade 28-21 , Meade could have beaten Nelson by 40 . We played our JV almost the intire second half with the clock running. 2 weeks later Nelson beats Greenwood by 35 or 40 . ???? You tell me. Our Defense against Owensboro was physical and I think that our defense dominated the tempo of the game. Games are played between the white lines, not in forums such as ours. You evidently love your team as such you should. You have a big city where there are at least 4 or five powerhouse teams at any given time . We in Meade have 1 team everyone knows everyone . We live and breath high school sports,especially football . We most of the time outnumber the home teams bleachers . People can say what they want about our program, our team , or even County. We will take up for ours as if they were and our kids , neighbors, or kin folk. I believe that we will make some noise again in this years playoffs.
