I just heard Clark pulled this one out but did not know the score. Anyone have a score? Good luck to Clark and Bourbon in the Region. Keep up the great job Coach Allison and staff. The kids are believing and playing hard.

Chuck has been successful everyplace he has been. He is very fundamentally sound, disciplined, and has everyone believing in what they are doing. Even at Mercer with Coach French, Mercers defense was hard-nosed, never quit, intense, well just like the coach. It starts with the coach and the coach has to have the support from the administration. I know schools that have quality coaches but the support is not there so it is my belief those coaches may have good years here and there but building a PROGRAM will be very difficult. Again, a coach like Coach Smith can convince the administration to support the program no matter what it takes. I know of youth and middles school programs that want to do things THEIR WAY and not be on the same page as the head coach. This will never build a program either. Great motivator, concentrate on details/fundamentals, having a great supporting staff (coaches, boosters, administrators, parents, etc), and everyone being on the same page I believe are the keys. Some schools want football teams and some want PROGRAMS. The schools with the support (true support) will build the programs, the ones without will continue to have teams.

It seems to me this job would be a great opportunity for anyone. I would love to have it myself. What is the situation? I may not be aware of all of the pro's and con's.

Does anyone have info on this game? The last I heard it was Bo.Co. 6-0 in bottom of 1st. Derick Cook pitching for Bourbon and Chris Hall started the game for Montgomery Co. Good luck to both teams and to the winner, best of luck tomorrow night vs Clark. Updates??

Paris started out great again this game going up 5-0. Jarred Robin pitched great for Paris and Paris was hitting well up to a point. Hats off to Clark. The kids nor coaches ever panic but stay with their game and it always works out. Great job Clark--Great job Coach Allison and staff. Paris, keep your heads up and keep working. You will have a lot of veterans next season if you can pull it all together. Good Luck to Clark tomorrow night and on the road to Applebee's.

Anyone ave updates on this one? It was to begin at 7:00 PM but as of 8:30 Powell and Wolfe were still playing.

Anyone know the result of this one. Last I heard it was 18-14 Powell in the 6th.

One good thing for Paris is that they are made up of mainly Jr's with Yieser, Jones and Estes-Waugh starting since they were 7th graders. They have 2 Sr's that will be missed next year but they are returning everyone else. Marty Jones was suppose to be their #1 pitcher this year but due to an injury has only pitched an inning or two in the last month. Next year he should be back to help with the pitching which will take a lot of pressure off of the rotation. Plus Jordan Barnett, a Freshman has been pitching well and with this experience this year and one year older will be an asset as well. Hopefully they will bring it together next year and make some noise. Next year GRC will still be GRC. Coach Allison, the staff and players are always prepared and they never rebuild, they simple reload. Hats off to both teams for a great game.

Clark and Paris played a great game tonight. Paris led most of the game but the Cards found a way to pull it out. Paris had a chance top of the 7th when they had bases loaded but couldn't retake the lead. GREAT JOB by Paris and excellent job by Clark. They will probably meet each other the first round of the district. Hope it's another great game.

If they are in a conference, the conference sets the guidelines. If they are not in a conference then my guess it is up to the HS/MS coaches.
