  1. What does Belfry have returning?
  2. The region has definately been turned upside down as compared to years past IMO.
  3. I Second that emotion.....WOW! How weak is the 14th...............Dang!
  4. KCC does not have much of a "home-court advantage" because they play bad whether they are on the road or at home. I hope they can turn things around, but this loss is a bad one not only because it happened at home, but it was against a less than average team IMO. The problem with KCC is that they do not have enough "scorers" and cannot score enough points to win much of the time. On the offensive side of the ball they are terrible and they are playing defense constantly because they are always turning the ball over.
  5. One player does not make the team....I think that if Breathitt plays an up tempo style of offense and defense they win easily because against KCC Wolfe could not do anything, and that includes Gilbert. I do think he ended up with a few points, but Wolfe lost by 40 to an average KCC team.
  6. I think that it will be a good game IF the Pats can find a way to turn things around and play like they did early on. They have headed downhill and are gaining speed in that direction from the games I have seen them play. I hope that they can win at least one game in the Tourny because my son is a Patriot fan.
  7. People have found out how to handle the 1-2-2 half court trap and they have not been able to score enough points to win. I do not know how many turnovers they average per game, but I bet it is a bunch, and they have trouble getting good shots and when they do get them, they have trouble making them. There is a long way to go in this season, and I hope they can turn things around. KCC was up 8 at halftime, but in the second half fell apart, so if they can match the play they had in the first half of this game in future games, they will be good, but at this point that is a BIG "if."
  8. I think they have a better chance of beating Perry Central than Clay County.
  9. True Statement, just take the KCC Patriots this year as an example. They have talant, but something has gone wrong and they look bad right now.
  10. The Tigers are very good compared to past years, but Knott is not as good as everyone has been saying. KCC has the players and the skill to be good, and they have been good this season, but they are in a "funk" offensively and their intensity is inconsistant at best right now. Very good win for the Tigers IMO. I predicted a 15 point difference in the prediction thread, and if the Pats do not get their game in order, they will have a losing record at seasons end IMO.
  11. Knott Central has issues on the offensive end and can not score enough to win this game IMO. I say the Eagles win by double digits. The Patriots have trouble playing against teams that are intense and show effort, seems to rattle them easily if they are not the more energetic team, and that has been the case in the last few games. I hope they can turn things around because if they continue to play the way they are they will not make it to the regional tourny.
  12. They are returning a lot of their "skill" personell, but they lost alot on the line, so it will be intresting to see if they can get the blocking they need to get the skill people the ball and to keep the key players healthy.
  13. 4-6, with a very good shot at 5-5 with a playoff birth.
  14. I think that on a State-wide level the 14th region is weak. There is not a team in the 14th that can contend for a state title this year. That being said, there are some good teams that can compete against other good teams, but there are no upper-tier teams in the mountains this year IMO.
  15. Should be intresting, if Jackson City has alot of speed they will give KCC trouble and may very well win this game. I predict a 75-61 win for Jackson City. I thought that KCC was quick before the Hazard game, but the bulldogs really opened my eyes and I know that they are not as quick as I had thought, so I think that Jackson City will handle 1-2-2 half court traps and if they can hit open shots they will win.
  16. I lose track of time I guess, maybe it was the year before, it was the year KCC 's girls won the 14th. They beat PCC by 20+ at KCC and 20+ in the regional tourny. The games were not even close in those games but PCC somehow won at PCC, they really do seem to have a home court advantage that affects the other team and on occasion, the officials IMO. I am talking about the girls games not the boys games in the instances I speak.
  17. There are plenty of examples of it being hard to get a win in Hazard, especially against PCC. I take one example from last years games between Knott Central and PCC. KCC wins 2 games by 20+ points on a neutral court and at KCC, but PCC wins at PCC, it is just a fact that they have a home court advantage, but that is not a bad thing IMO, especially if you are a PCC fan.
  18. It wasn't just Hicks getting the open looks, it was the whole team. The shots that Hazard took were uncontested a majority of the time, they really moved the ball around well and hit the open shots. If they can make their shots like they did in this game, they will be hard to beat in the 14th.
  19. Many shots he made were open spot up shots, he did not seem able or willing to make his own shots off the dribble. What number is Hicks, just to make sure I am talking about the same person that you all are? I am thinking of either 3 or 21.
  20. Yes they were, they had trouble with the speed of Hazard all night and what usually works against slower teams, backfired on them tonight as far as the defensive side of the ball in concerned. They will have trouble with teams with speed all year unless something changes. I thought that Adam Dials played a solid game for the Pats, and he is one of the more consistant players for them. If the Pats do not find a consistant way to get good shots and more more consistant play from their Seniors they will have trouble making it out of the District IMO.
