  1. I don't know what to tell you other than there are two people carefully watching the game and recording steals, deflections, tie-ups (won & lost)...all that we can record. If an open spot-up shooter is found and scores...that's an assist. Each of Dundon's baskets came as a result of such an assist this evening. Additionally, a number of Queen's scores inside came off of an assist. As for steals...not real difficult to see. I think after tonight's contentiousness, I'll go back to filming every game.
  2. Please, enlighten us all as to how it is that the Lady Royals play only "Queen ball." You know...you really ought to do a better job of disguising your pettiness.
  3. Excuse me...I did not "put this loss on some kids that only played a few minutes," nor did I intimate that Gambill did less than the job she was asked to do. Since you mentioned the PG position, however, let me add this...when Faulkner fouls out, the ball should be in Queen's hand. If she blows it...so be it...but don't put that kind of pressure on a 6th grader and at the same time fail to demonstrate your confidence in a proven and experienced player. As for agreeing with Walrus...all he said was that the stats were wrong. Are you disputing them as well?
  4. Then you are blind. Walrus, I've tried to be patient with you in the past and have toyed with you in response to your criticisms. Now, I'm asking you to put up or shut up.
  5. Compare them as best you can with any other source. The RHCS statistician is well-qualified and experienced and, as I've stated before, has been confirmed via films a number of times.
  6. Two observations... Raceland's discipline, superior physical strength and overall athleticism was surprising. As disappointing was the loss for the Royals, it was a pleasure to watch the execution on the part of the Rams. Dakotah Euton did not have his best game...in the face of extreme defensive pressure...but I continued to watch him closely and not once did he put his head down. At the 6:00 mark in the 4th quarter, I remarked to my wife that Dakotah was still encouraging Fuller and others to keep working. Tremendous maturity for such a young player.
  7. Queen: 18 pts, 8/12 shooting (all inside the arc), 2/4 free throws, 13 rebs, 6 stls, 4 asts Terry: 4 pts, 2/9 shooting (0/4 3ptrs), 0/2 free throws, 5 rebs, 1 stl, 4 asts Faulkner: 13 pts, 6/15 shooting (1/2 3ptrs), 0 rebs, 5 stls, 4 asts Adkins: 4 pts, 2/7 shooting (all inside the arc), 1 reb, 2 stls Dundon: 10 pts, 5/15 shooting (all inside the arc), 5 rebs, 1 stl Gambill: 2 pts, 0/3 shooting (0/1 3ptr), 1 reb Congratulations to Raceland for executing a wonderful game plan. Raceland doubled up on Queen and Terry and invited Rose Hill to try and beat them with their younger players....which RHCS, mistakenly in my view, seemed content to try. Tonight's opponent was not...with all due respect to a hard-working group of young kids....Bath County. Tonight was not the time to take the ball out of the hands of the senior leadership.
  8. Their 3pt shooting ability in the last game proves that they are a team that can knock off an overconfident and unprepared opponent. Congratulations to Coach Cantrell and the Elliott County kids for what they have accomplished this year.
  9. Hey, Scooterbob...how 'bout Phil Layne leading Holy Family to victory over the Tomcats (Lynch, Farrow, Kleycamp, Williams, Hall,...) in...what was it...'70 or 71? I know you remember!!
  10. Well, of course...as was my reply. Witness the :D We got a big kick out of your post in this household!!:thumb:
  11. I saw her at the Shoot for the Cure and was very impressed. It seemed to me that she was one of those kids that, because of her size, had been put in the post most of her playing days. She was very good on the low block, but I would liked to have seen her handle the ball further away from the basket. She may well be quite capable away from the basket, but on that night she didn't get many opportunities outside the paint.
  12. ...and Emily Queen...although I bet the boys don't blush as much as she does when Ty walks into the gym. Thanks, Ty.
  13. I plan to make it, although I'm hopeful that I can avoid the bizarre incident that ocurred when I entered the Stewart Gymnasium on Monday night...and I'm not making this up. Ricky P's dad walked over to the ticket table as I was paying for my ticket, welcomed me and shook my hand...and then P's mother, looked up at me and in her sweet voice said..."Hi, Rob...we just love our new TV." I said, "Sorry, right forehead...wrong Rob.":D
  14. Congratulations to first year coach, Mark Cantrell.
  15. Please...I'm only trying to serve the interests of the general fan base ...aaaand if by chance fans and friends of a certain 6'2" junior forward/center at Warren East...aaaand...like supporters of a certain 5'11" junior guard at Lexington Catholic just happen to read the article.....well, maybe, just maybe, they might be inclined to encourage those two fine young players to keep MTSU in mind.:thumb:
  16. Chelsia Lymon, a Scott County graduate and current freshman at 20th ranked Middle Tennessee, and Emily Queen, a Rose Hill senior and Middle Tennessee signee, have each stated that MTSU Coach Rick Insell was instrumental in their decision to attend MTSU. The following is a link to today's USA Today article on Coach Insell...good reading for any fan of women's basketball. Enjoy. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/womensbasketball/2007-01-16-insell-mtsu-cover_x.htm
  17. Thanks, Oldrambler. Now...how 'bout Ginn leaving early? Bummer, huh?
  18. Congratulations to a fine young person. We wish you the very best.
  19. The Lady Royals starters played 1 1/2 quarters and the younger reserves were able to get in excess of two quarters of experience in an important All A 1st round game...and once again played with an intensity and maturity beyond their years. A wonderful effort by the entire team. Queen: 21 pts, 10/13 shooting (includes 1/2 3ptrs), 5 rebs, 3 asts Terry: 8 pts, 4/9 shooting (includes 0/2 3ptrs), 7 rebs, 4 asts Faulkner: 6 pts, 3/6 shooting, 3 rebs, 6 asts Adkins: 2 pts, 1/3 shooting Hammonds: 0 pts, 0/1 shooting, 1 reb Friley: 0 pts, 0/1 shooting, 2 rebs Dundon: 0 pts, 5 rebs Gambill: 7 pts, 2/6 shooting (includes 2/5 3ptrs), 1/4 free throws, 1 reb Day: 5 pts, 1/6 shooting (includes 0/1 3 ptr), 3/4 free throws, 4 rebs, 1 ast Pope: 2 pts, 1/4 shooting (includes 0/1 3ptr), 7 rebs Cullop: 0 pts, 0/5 shooting (includes 0/1 3ptr), 2 rebs Mays: 2 pts, 1/5 shooting (includes 0/1 3ptr), 4 rebs 4 team rebounds, 18 turnovers, 15 steals
