That's fine , as I would hope that you WOULD be concerned for all of the kids. I just noticed in your original post you were quick to point out that Johnson Central had had a problem, but you were sure not indicating that Paintsville had experienced the exact same problem as well. Just seemed a little odd to me that you would not point out an issue that your own school had experienced (as I would think that would be an isssue that would seem to be the freshest on one's mind, and closest to one's heart) , but were quick to point out the issue with your school's rival, and then place the blame on their facilities as the focal point of such a wide scale and wide ranging problem. Excuse me if I misinterpreted.:thumb:

Not playing around and making fun of the problem just poking some honestly good natured fun at Matilda. If you go back and read her first post you will see that she at no time mentions that Paintsville has had a problem with staph infection, just Johnson Central. She does however mention later on when reminded that, yes, Paintsville also may have some problems. But we all see who is getting the possible blame on a problem that has reached nationwide attention. I just took the initial post as a Paintsville supporter jab at the county schools. Maybe I took that wrong, but I doubt it. Just blaming the root of the problem on the JC practice field is a little far fetched when you consider that the same flood waters often cover the Little League field at Paintsville where there has been no reported problems or at the Johnson Central Middle school field, the high school baseball field, the softball field, the Cal Ripken complex, and many other areas of Johnson County that are under water at the exact same time , by the exact same creek, and in most cases on facilities that lie adjacently to the practice field. What about the soccer teams, what about the golfers that use the practice field and the adjacent baseball fields to hit golf balls on and to conduct soccer practice on. These fields are all under water at the exact same time. Why no reported problems with any of these other programs. I own a farm that Paint Creek crosses where it has been designated a trophy trout stream. I along with countless hundreds of other people wade fish this creek. Why no reported outbreaks among fishermen. I pretty well consider myself an expert when it comes to playing around in Paint Creek and the health problems it has caused with myself and those of my family and friends that spend countless hours enjoying the fishing.(Which is zilch). What about all the people that swim, fish,and ski on Paintsville Lake which is approximately 2 miles upstream from Johnson Central. How come you dont hear of this problem with epidemic proportions with these people. This is where I am coming from Watusi. I guess you would have to be more familiar with the lay of Paint Creek and the way just about all of the water drainage in Johnson County is directed in this water basin to know where I am coming from.Again I was just injected a common sense aproach as to where it is highly doubtful that Paint Creek is the national culprit to the origin of the staph infection problem plauging football teams.

Hey, you got me. I just cant fight the logic any longer. I think that someone should call the Saint Louis Rams office and let them know that they need not worry about trying to find out the origin of their problem any longer.( Must have happened when the Rams were in town for that scrimmage with JCHS). The mystery has been solved. Now we all know that the staph problem that is sweeping the country can be pinpointed as originating from Johnson Central's practice field that had flood water from Paint Creek on it. The whole medical world will breathe a little easier tonight(at least I know I will). Now all we need to do is borrow some of those giant planes from the U.S. Forestry Dept. and fly them suckers over Johnson Central's practice football field and spray it down with clorox.:lol:

Not testy at all, sorry to come across that way. I'm just trying to make commonsense a part of this discussion. By the way the Apple Bowl was not played on the practice field. It was played on that big one with the track and the bleachers around it.......j/k ....I've never seen flood water on it.

If that were the case the whole county would be dealing with the same issue.That same flood water gets on half the county when it floods. The little league field is always under water when it floods from this very same creek. How many cases you hear of coming from the little league field? I haven't heard of any. What about the cases coming from Paintsville's football locker room? They been playing near the creek too? I dont think so.

What a question!!!!The dirt for the practice field came from the mountain top behind Wal Mart. I cant believe that anyone who lives in Paintsville could come up with a statemen like that, what with the steady stream of trucks coming from that area loaded with dirt,that was highly visable for more than a year going back and forth after loads. And by the way, I heard that Paintsville has had some of those same cases. Did that come from the creek dirt also?....NO!!! :confused: It's a problem that has hit in many parts of the country.

The game was actually played at Paintsville High School. It was before JC had their own field. I actually think it was in 1972 (1972-1973 season) when the game was played. It was JC's 2nd or 3rd year of football.

This whole converstion about tapes , media guides etc. is just plain stupid. Was Johnson Central invited to play in the the CVB because they were a good up and coming football program that would provide a competitive game or were they invited to come and participate in a dog and pony show and just lie down for one of the Laurel County Schools? It seems to me that the first scenerio about being a competitive participant was more than fulfilled by Matney and Johnson Central. That was his duty and his only duty. In fact he may have obliged a little too much in that department, looking at the score for some of you Laurel Countians. Matney's job is to win football games at Johnson Central within the rules of the game and nothing else more. He was not hired by the Johnson County School Board to have his teams be a participant in a traveling tent carnival. Do you all want to play football down there or are you all now a part of Barnum and Bailey? If Johnson Central is supposed to come and only be the bearded lady or the man with two noses in the event, I could care less if they are ever invited back.

Just dont say nothing about any trash or junk that him and Daddy Dickie leave lying around Putnam. That really sends him into a rage!!:lol:
