Cody Diamond, big KC defensive lineman, intercepts PCC's first pass attempt and returns it for a TD. Diamond also kicked the PAT. Knox Central 7 Perry Central 0 9:30 to go 1st qtr.

I'll take Knox Central because of the their D line. Offense has several weapons that have not quite synced so far. Hopefully, this will be the night it happens. Perry Central has a very good linebacker but KC is aware and prepared.

Canady rushes for 145, Gist for 95 and two TDs for Knox Central. Passing game was off tonight but Barger managed to scramble several times to keep drives alive. Defense, as usual, was excellent.

Knox Central, trying to run out the clock, runs several plays between the tackles for big gains and has scored again. 21-13 KC.

Knox Central leads early in the 4th qtr 14-7. Surprisingly low scoring game as neither team seems to be able to get the offense untracked.

Great game. Corbin trailed 14-7 late in the 4th when Corbin Jr. reciever Hunter Grubb caught his second td pass of the game. Karns recieved the kick and funbled on the first play from scrimmage. A Corbin player (sorry, I didn't catch his name) scooped it up and took it into the endzone for a 21-14 Corbin lead. Karns then went to the air and scored with about 3 minutes left and successfully went for two. Corbin picked up one more first down but then turned it over on downs. Good defensive battle until about six minutes to go in the game.

Knox Central looked really good in their opener. I don't know much about West Jessamine but if the Sommerset game is any indication, Central should win this one easily. Knox Central 36 West Jessamine 14

I believe it is Lancaster Christian Academy out of Smyrna, Tennessee.

To almost no one's surprise, Knox Central has promoted longtime offensive coordinator and former Mr. Football Scottie Russell to head coach. The administration sorted through almost 30 applications before finally narrowing the field to Russell, Alabama Winfield High Coach Danny Adams and former Greenup Co. head coach Mike Copley. Russell is extremely popular with both the players and fans at KC and I feel like his promotion will make the transition to the post-Mills era a smooth one. Congrats to Coach Russell and thanks to those who worked on the selection committee.

This has been an unsually tight lipped process. Here is what I've been hearing but I can't stake my reputation on it: Around thirty applications have been recieved with some very good names. Leading candidates at this point appear to be KC offensive coordinator Scottie Russell, former Greenup Co. head coach Mike Copley, Alabama Winfield High head coach Danny Adams. Most locals are pretty stauch supporters of Russell.
