Thanks Pirate Pal... That is what I have tried to convey to people. In a hurry up offense with a lot of passes the team has a chance all the time. OC had a young, small defense last year. My whole point was that even with Belfry's domination of clock and ground attack they still had to hold off OC offence the entire game. This year OC is much bigger and better on the line defensively and I suspect it will be the difference. OC is a better more well rounded team this year.

I don't think you guys get it. 11 passes is not very many. OC ran 80 offensive plays against FC who had the ball for more or less equal time. OC does more in the time it has. OC passes over 50% of the time. That being said can Russell's DBs cover the pass on potentially 40 plays. Its a lot of running. Belfry got over 500 yards last year and yet only won the game by 7 points. OC has a constant moving offense with big play potential ever down. My point is OC had a young inexperienced defense last year and this year they are bigger and more mature and it shows. OC offense kept them in the game. Any team that gets 500+ yards should win by more than 7 unless the opponent has a tremendously talented explosive wide open offense. OC is even better this year all around... OC by 14... :thumb:

What is Russell's overall record? How many on the Roster? How many over 250lbs? How many sacks on the season? How many interceptions? I am Just curious.

Owensboro Catholic's Coach John Edge should be a big favorite. Head Coach for 2004 and 2005. In his first 2 seasons he has taken a school that only went to State once in their entire history. He has taken them 2 times in two years. Not to mention he is only 29 and these are his first 2 years at head coach. I would have to say he has to be the youngest coach in history of the state to have done this and maybe the only one to have done it in their first two seasons as a head coach. Does anybody else see this as an accomplishment deserving of Coach of the Year or is it just me?

DITTO GreenNation. Every team in the state is soooooooo much more physical than OC. Yet somehow the little bitty Aces just keep knocking everyone off. At this point accoding to all the previous posts week after week OC has played more physical teams than anyone. No one is any more physical than OC. Their line on both sides is tough. OC wins this one by 14 in the 4th Q. Russell will run out of gas! I am sure Russell is a good team for all of you Russell fans but its the Aces Year. PERIOD. Also, for the record, I want my cudos on the 21 point spread I said the Aces would win by in the Desalles game. :thumb:

Jsutice, you guys still have another game to... WOW lets state the obvious...we both have tough games ahead ... However if you read the title of this thread its asking for opinions for the final game. I gave mine and you seem very sensitive. Especially for a back to back state championship team. I don't what you think about your offense. But most football fans will tell you that 95% run is bbooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrring. If you don't agree, good. I could care less that you think your offense is exciting. It got the job done, and its boooooooorrrrrrrrrrriiiiiingggggg. As I said before I would like to play again. Please allow me to state that I want a rematch... Hey, relax... I am not going to stay home and if I see Belfry playing that boring style offense again, I am going to say so win or lose.

I don't think Belfry has that ability this year and YES that style is very BOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRINNG. No Oneijoe, FC was simply loafing and not paying attention. So your comment about it being bone-headed comes from a guy that probably can not make in game decsions when given good opportunities. OC gained over 5 yards on a play they shouldn't have run but they got because the coach was smart enough to have his head in the game and immediately seize an oppotunity that in hindsite was no risk at all. Its only risky to the Oneijoes of the world who cannot think outside the box. :flame: back at you smart guy :sssh:

Belfry got over 500 yards offense last year against OC and still barely won 28-21 with that slow style offense. If you can only score on long sustained drives and your suseptable on defense to a big play team like OC was last year, you give OC, which was a young team, the opportunities to keep it close. OC is much better this year and more mature. I hope for an OC - Belfry rematch and I say OC by 14 against that boring ground attack of 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Sure, Belfry got 500 yards but when you win only by 7 there is some kind of serious weakness there. I don't see there defense saving them, I see the offense controlling the ball as there only chance. Any team with 500 yards should win by a much bigger margin if there defense is so good. :dancingpa

Rick "The Dick" Thompson from Owensboro is without a doubt the best play-by-play commentator in the State. He calls all 4 area high schools games and makes it more exciting than any pro announcer I have heard. Congrats DICK on another great year! :thumb:
