  1. So Holmes lost later. They both lost their last game.
  2. Talent on the team at UK will be at a completely different level by the time Arrez is a junior. That is what will keep him off the court. There is a difference, but a loss is a loss.
  3. Slone's chance to walk-on would be of the "preferred" variety as well. As I said, BCG is casting a wide net on his walk-ons.
  4. You dont need to be able to shoot over someone 6'3. If you are shooting with any person right on you, it's probably not a good shot. Josh usually takes good shots, and can actually create shots for himself and others. Smart is tall and he can shoot. That's about it. If you put Smart in Whitaker's place on that Hazard team, I say Hazard does not make the Sweet 16. A certain college coach in attendance told Whitaker if he keeps working, he could see him playing for him in a few years. I'd like to think he knows what he is talking about.
  5. Some of you are really missing it. I'm not against the kid walking on at UK. Walk-ons generally do not hurt the program because they come at no cost. Like I've said, he will provide good D and hustle in practice to make our starters better. Billy G can get a lot of guys to play D, so if you look at past walk ons that have played, they have provided a solid offensive spark. Ravi and Mills could shoot the lights out. Arrez cant. That is the difference between him getting on the floor at that level. He could play someday for a lower level D1 program if he wants to. If you believe he will play meaningful minutes at UK for Billy Gillispie, get back to me in four years and we can talk then.
  6. I said he'd make a good practice player at UK. You guys just read what you want to read dont you? Not what is actually typed out. Wouldn't Mills and Henderson both have been walk-ons if he takes the opportunity to walk on the team? I believe so. Henderson is a better player than Mills no doubt. Still the same title. Following him all year. I'm sure he has been looking at a walk-on prospect all year. I can decipher who is who and what is what. Some dont like me and look to disagree with me and that is fine. You can follow Highlands all you want to, but somebody drank the red Holmes kool-aid during the state tournament with FTH out of it. I had nobody to root for at the tournament, so I'm just calling it like I see it.
  7. Antwain Barbour got a scholarship offer after his performance. BCG talked to several kids at the Sweet 16. One I know in particular he said to keep working and he had a chance to play for him one day. I'm excited about the walk on offer for Henderson. Great for him. His weakness appears to be any type of perimeter offense. If you can back off a kid, its gonna be tough to go by anybody. He isnt super quick with the ball either. I'm not knocking the kid, its called an observation. What reason do I have to knock the kid?
  8. They both lost. That is all I'm saying. They lost at different points, but they still lost their last game. Am I lying? A yes or no will suffice. I know when each team lost.
  9. I very well could have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night. Some guys are getting a little personal in here arent they?:sssh:
  10. Good one. And they both lost their last game. Keep up.
  11. Next? I never said the kid wasnt a good basketball player, just that he didnt have the tools to be an effective or top level D1 player. Look back and see where I said any high school team would be glad to have him. With what he does, he can make a good practice player at that level. As for who has been offered a walk on spot and has not, its all hearsay at this point. Nothing is even confirmed on this one, Slone, anybody. Look at the walk-ons that have been at UK, Dusty Mills and Matt Scherbenske. Have you ever seen those kids play? You dont really want to. I'd be very curious to see the tape. I'm sure you have it. Send me a PM if you really want to send it to me. I'll definitely take a look. Miller may have fouled him, but I'm not betting they were all drives to the basket. From the 3 point line to the basket. No screens or anything. Straight up got past him. Is that what you are saying? I'd be interested to know how many times BCG has actually seen Henderson play. Maybe you could enlighten us? Coaches see a strong kid that can D people up, and being the arrogant group they are they think they can turn them into something. I think I have made this statement before and it obviously went over some heads. Average Sweet16 fan? I'll let that slide. If you doubt me so much, I wouldnt ask me in PM's what I think about this and that person or team anymore. :sssh: I hope the kid proves me wrong, but I just am not seeing what the Holmes crowd sees through those red colored glasses. Are you guys my new Mason Co.?
  12. I'm always up for a good debate. It makes life more tolerable to follow a team when you are away from your home team. Due to several factors, SC became that team for me to follow. I have been known to root against SC on occasion. That is neither here nor there... Both teams lost their last game. Sounds the same to me.
  13. I think I have said this before, but if you have noticed, Miller never guards the other teams best offensive player. That says something.
  14. Um, that doesnt keep you from moving without the ball. Somebody checked Slone hard and it got in his head. He may have thought it better to keep Henderson out of the play and see what his teammates can do. You never know what is going through a high schoolers head on the floor. Slone is the first option, Middleton is the third. There is a difference in ability and the looks they get. From that standpoint, Henderson let a lesser player get the same on him. Not good. Miller didn't exactly get after him on D. He depended on his length too much. Not solid in my mind, but we have different opinions. Oh, and I love your "yes man."
  15. Are you still confused as to who my team is? Check my name. I follow SC, but by no means are they my team. By the way, Holmes finished their season in the same manner as SC.
  16. Mexitucky, I'm jealous of a high school kid? Not likely. No chip here, I'm just a realist. I enjoy stating my opinions simple as that. That being said, I dont dislike the kid at all. He behaved admirably at the tournament and seemed like a good kid. I wish him the best.
  17. If a kid his size comes out and goes D1, he either is quick with a good handle or he has a pretty good outside shot. As I think we all know, he doesnt have either.
  18. Check my posts. I said the kid wasn't deserving of a D1 scholarship. As far as I have seen, he doesnt have one in hand. Here's one for you as well.
  19. From the way fans talk, apparently a lot. BCG is casting a wide net over the state to find in state guys to walk on. It isnt necessarily making it as much of an honor. Now, that being said, most kids in the state would love to have the opportunity and I applaud Henderson for getting to a level that many can only dream of. It makes sense to ask state kids to walk on. I saw Henderson with a lot of loose balls, getting passes, and rebounds in order to score his points at state. This is what I have to judge him on. He got around Miller once or twice, the others were screens, missed assignments ,etc. to get to the basket. My opinion is wrong. I didnt know opinions could be wrong. Interesting....
  20. I can state any opinion I want within the rules of BGP. Deal with it. If you dont like it, dont read it. Not too hard. Maybe you can eventually figure that out.
  21. It is possible for people to have differing opinions from you. Novel idea, I know. It is possible he is a better player than Slone. No chance he is better than Sanford. You can play with numbers all you want, those that saw the game and know a thing or two about talent can tell you that Sanford is the better basketball player, especially seeing as how he is only a junior. As has been stated many times, its not like Sanford is the first or second option, and maybe not even the third. Slone just did a poor job of moving without the ball in that game. Middleton ate Henderson up, are we saying Middleton is the best out of all those kids. I am definitely not saying that. You will find a hard time convincing people to change their opinions. Once they are formed, not much will change. Deal with it.
  22. It wasnt a banker was it?
