Lewis pitched Holder who threw well, then brought in Thompson. 2-0 game after 4 innings, then 4 hits, a couple 2 or 3 walks and 4 errors later, Russel scored 8 runs in bottom of the 5th.

Final in the opening game of 63rd District.

Game 1 of the 63rd District Tournament has been moved from Lewis County to Greenup County. Game one is Lewis County and Russell. I am assuming game two between Greenup County and Raceland has been moved as well. The rain has not been kind to Lewis County's new field and Greenup has an infield tarp, so hopefully they can get these games in tonight. Lewis County vs Russell at 5:30 And I assume Greenup and Raceland to follow.

Does the 43rd District seed for the District tournament?

After the hard winter we have had the baseball gods are looking down upon us. Temps in the 50s and 60s the rest of the week!!!! That's a great first week in the middle of February.

Now need for a tie-breaker. Both Lewis County and Russell are 4-1 in seed games. The game they played in the EKC that Lewis County won is not considered.

Russell is extremely young. Lost two big time contributers in Kayla Parsley and Jenny Ferguson from last years team. No Seniors on this years squad and only 3 maybe 4 juniors.

I'm shocked by this.

My bad. I left off in the past 2 weeks. Russell has 4 FGs in the past two weeks thanks to Tanner Locey, but we have to turn those into TDs. On a side note, both FGs Locey hit tonight were mid 20s but both cleared by 20 yards. He could be a nice weapon down the road. And he's only a Junior.

My two cents on Ironton as opposed to years past is the lack of speed on the lines. They are usually, big strong AND quick. This year they are definitely Big and Strong, but don't seem as quick.

First downs were 19-15 Russell's favor. Total yardage was 332-264 Ironton Favor. Too many little mistakes by Russell. Must get the ball in the endzone. 4 FGs instead of TDs. Ironton has a couple really nice backs.
