  1. Not sure.... I do think they could beat UM and OSU which have proven to be overrated....
  2. Does anyone else realize how close UL was to being National Champs? I have no doubt they could play with OSU....
  3. I disagree, about D3 being one of the weakest. Glasgow is Glasgow and is never down for long... Metcalfe has had recent success in 1A region 1, and Monroe is returning several key players to team that last year won the regular season district championship and had it not been for a slip up against Glasgow (a team they beat 19-0 the previous week and held to 32 yards total offense) would have had a rematch against Owensboro Catholic a team they had already beat...
  4. :thumb: You can still see a few of those Black and Gold letterman jackets from time to time...
  5. I can definitely understand that most people will be shocked at the outcome, but I assure you this game was no fluke, Monroe lead the entire game and lead by 15 at halftime. OC definitely struggled against the run so they loaded 8 men in the box and the Falcons made them pay for that on several occasions. I would like to add that Monroe Co. had an injured player that left the game by ambulance with an apparent neck injury, the player was #25 Garrett Lyon a sophomore LB/TE keep him and his family in your prayers. And thanks to those fans from OC who said a prayer while Garrett was being attended to…
  6. This game was a little closer than I figured it to be, Monroe was actually leading in the 4th qtr until a punt return for a TD put the Cardinals ahead for good. The Falcons are a young team that seem to be getting better every week, hopefully they will be more competitive come district time… Congrats to Wayne Co. and good luck the rest of your season…
  7. I’m not sure what to expect from this Monroe team as of now. I do know that we are very young at several positions, such as LB where its highly possible we will start 4 sophomores, and that’s only one of many positions that will be filled by sophomores (HB, TE and WR to name a few). Don’t get me wrong I more than realize that our sophomores are exceptional athletes that as a team haven’t lost a game, but I also realize that experience plays a huge role in teams early season success. Hopefully the Falcons will get something going early and build confidence if they can do that I see no reason they can’t beat the Raiders…
  8. Couldn't agree more!:thumb: Note to Guru, this guy deserves a raise.....
  9. Not saying that I’m for nor against 6 classes, I can however say that if the KHSAA’s motive is to reduce district travel time then they certainly achieved that in the case of the team I follow (Monroe Co.). Take a look at the new travel times as opposed to the old travel times. Old district Owensboro Cath. 2.5 hours Todd Co. Central 2.5 hours Butler Co. 1hr 45min Edmonson Co. 1hr 20min Hart Co. 1hr 20min Glasgow 30min New district travel times Clinton Co. 1hr 10min Green Co. 1hr Glasgow 30 min Metcalfe Co. 30 min
  10. IMO Glasgow is off the radar for the next few years, losing Coach Eubank was a big blow to that program...
  11. Murphy is a big strong kid and serves more pancakes than IHOP... I'm very pleased that he's going to UK and wish him all the best, this year and beyond...
  12. No. because under that scenario it would be nothing more than law of averages (if 3/4 of the All A schools are public then it would only make sense that 3/4 of the teams in the final four would be public right?), so that makes me wonder how the private schools are consistently defying the odds and the law of averages????
  13. Glasgow had more than a talent loss, HC Jerry Eubank retired at the end of the school year. I expect the next few years could be rough for the scotties...
