Your right but it seemed that Hannity's push was a little stronger and carried more weight than Imus because of the situation Imus was in seemed to override anything he said during those couple of weeks... Nevertheless what Sharpton is doing is a good thing and the right thing, however it doesn't change my opinion on him...

I think Sean Hannity may be the one who needs applauding for this, he's the one that took him on and challenged him on this issue at their recent debate...

So who cares for them if you take them from their parents? That’s right uncle sam... taking a kid from its parents should be as a last resort...

Sorry but I don't think having someone that solely depends on the government to survive to do a little community service/work is that bad of an idea or an injustice to them, if anything it may inspire them... I think its a little sad when I see the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts or some church group cleaning up our roadways or painting over some graffiti, when those jobs could be done by able bodied people that do nothing but draw a check…

If they can’t be productive members of society as a civilian what makes you think they could do any better in the military? Serving in the military should be looked at as an honor and privilege and should be reserved for those that want to be there… My idea would be to make them earn their benefits, such as working for the city, county and state they reside in. The time they would have to put in would depend on the worth of their benefits, if they don’t report to work you simply cut their benefits. That may be a bad idea with several holes, but I think it’s a lot better than sending them to the military so they can become a cancer on a whole new level…

Maybe it is a different question but the whole time I have looked at it as if it was UK vs. UL majority UK UK vs. UC majority UK UK vs. OSU majority UK UK vs. IU majority UK Thus making UK the majority in the state of KY I guess I should have been looking at it like UK vs. UL, UC, OSU and IU even though that doesn’t seem right when comparing fan bases… Thanks for the insightful discussion… :thumb:

I will concede that by definition your right, but I can’t help but looking at it as if you put UK up against any of the other teams heads up that UK would have the majority… Is this example wrong as well? UK plays UL on a neutral field and every fan of those two schools have tickets and attend the game which team has the majority of fans at the game? Would it not be UK? Could I not substitute UL with any team in this scenario and have the same results? I understand that when you throw all the teams together UK would not be the majority, but head to head would it not be different?

Change the independent to 11... my bad... So let me get this strait in the state of KY no team has a majority of the fan base... is that correct?

I still don’t see it your way…. If UK football fans are the minority in the state of Kentucky then what team has the majority??? And please note I said team not teams, because its not UK vs. UL, WKU, IU, OSU and UC combined that’s not a fair comparison. Also the 50% argument is only valid if your dealing with 2 sums that make a whole, in the context of this discussion there are more than two sums despite the fact you have tried to break it down as if it’s UK verse everyone else…. For example rank the teams with the largest fan following 1-5 1. UK 2. UL 3. OSU 4. UC 5. IU The team with a 1 by its name has the majority, all others are the minority.

If the population of the sate of KY is, 45% white 35% black 20% hispanic who would be the minority??? it wouldn't appear to be the 45% ers???

What’s the problem if UK wants to offer Coach Donovan 4 million to coach the cats??? IMO if you have it (money) then use it to your advantage, isn’t that the nature of the beast? With all the NBA talent Billy has turned out at Florida don’t you think that they will give millions back to the university that launched them to the top? How much do you think the Dukies in the NBA have given back to Duke? How much more does that make coach K worth? If the NBA can offer 5 mil. Why can’t a premier college compete with that, and don’t give me because it hasn’t been done before, because it will be done the question is who does it first…

Not to mention that in today’s sports media a lot of attention is paid to Coaches who have had success at multiple programs as if it solidifies them as a better coach if they can have success at more than one program.

At this point you can’t pay any attention to what you hear coming from Billy D’s mouth, he may be 100% interested or 0% interested. No matter how much he’s interested he has to seem available in order make his next contract be it at UK or UF a wealthy one…

I would have liked to have seen Porter get in the game, especially when the gators went zone… I also didn’t like the four guards/Thomas line-up…. I did like the heart the cats showed. If they play with the same heart and intensity as they did tonight they’ll be just fine, because I doubt they will shoot that bad the rest of the season….
