When will the NFL Season Start?
halfback20 replied to halfback20's topic in National Football League (NFL)
I never mentioned them being in shape. I agree they should be in great condition coming in. However, teams need time to practice. The beginning of the season already looks sloppy because they have limited how much time teams can practice. Shorten the off season and it will be worse. I guess it's the pessimistic in me that doesn't see all this being better by the time the NFL is scheduled to start up. -
When will the NFL Season Start?

Training camp, mini camps will all be delayed, imo. How can they start the season on time if those things are pushed back? Teams with new coaching staffs would be at a significant disadvantage. Rookies too. -
In your opinion....I don't see it starting on time. I'm really not sure when we will have any major sporting events again.

I deleted my Facebook and do not regret it.

Italy is getting hit harder than most. Apparently they have lost a lot of people with pre existing conditions. I read somewhere that 99% of the people that have died from corona virus there have had pre existing conditions of some kind. Still scary, but there must be a reason it is so much worse there than it is anywhere else.

Texans Trade DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona
halfback20 replied to halfback20's topic in National Football League (NFL)
Makes the Giants trade for OBJ look way better. Giants got a 1st, 3rd, former 1st rounder Jabril Peppers, and Kevin Zeitler for OBJ and Olivier Vernon (who they were gonna release) -
Wow. Cards apparently get Hopkins and a 4th Texans get RB David Johnson and a 2nd this year, 4th next year. I may be wrong on some details but think thats mostly accurate.
-
How do they plan on enforcing it?

Chiefs 31 49ers 20 (Super Bowl LIV)

Hated him at one point because he was an Eagle. Don't hate him now though. Happy for him. -
I have several. Haven't bought one in a while and probably won't buy many more though. Most of the ones I bought were when I was a kid.

First Eli/Peyton commercial I have seen since Eli retired. And its pretty good.
-
Super bowl win(S). And I never said someone would say Eli was better than Brees. Not sure where you got that. I'm excited for when he does get in. Because he will get in.
-
Every other player with 2 super bowl MVPs is in the HOF other than Brady, obviously. He deserves it and will get in.
-
I disagree. Eli's performances in his two super bowls are more memorable than Drew Brees throwing a ton of TDs. People will remember the helmet catch and the heroics of the 4th quarter drives to take down a dynasty in the big game 2x, forever.
-
How many QBs played in the NFL while Eli played? Hundreds? If hes 6th best you dont consider him one of the best? There's a debate to be had about a lot of things. But there are very few people in the world who have done the things Eli has done. Some only a handful have accomplished. To me, that makes you one of the best.

Kobe Bryant Dies in Helicopter Crash

Sounds like she said "nakers" if you listen closely. Wouldn't be surprised if she's fired anyway. -

Just saw this. Hoping it isnt true. Terrible. -
And Eli has more super bowl MVPs than those 3 have super bowl wins.
-
Btw, He was absolutely one of the best to do it in his era. How many others won as many super bowls and MVPs as him? Not to mention his numbers were consistently top 10, top 5 and sometimes top 2 or 3. You might have an argument if Eli had top 3 defenses every year and rode that to his super bowls like Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson. That didnt happen.
-
You destroyed your own argument by pointing out that Eli has had a much better career than all of those guys. If Philip Rivers won 1 superbowl and was an MVP wouldn't you think he would be a good candidate for the HOF? Heck, some think he is a candidate already. Imagine if he had 2 super bowl rings and MVPS. Many consider Roethlisberger a lock. He had much better defenses and didnt play nearly as good as Eli (especially in his first super bowl win). Stats matter, and Eli has very good overall numbers. Super bowl wins, and MVPs matter. Having huge moments in NFL history matter. Maybe one of those things alone doesnt get you in, but when you have em all, you're definitely in.
-
Everyone has their opinions. There are a lot of players in the HOF that dont fit your criteria.
-
What does his dad have to do with anything? Eli played better than Peyton in both of his super bowls. Average QBs dont win two super bowls and MVPs with average defenses. Eli is the only QB in history of the NFL to win two superbowls with defenses ranked lower than 15th.
