  1. No one is comparing them number for number. But you can compare how they stacked up number wise with others in their era, how many MVPs they won, how many times they lead the league etc. Elway wasnt exactly crushing the league and leading every statistical category. Neither was Aikman.
  2. If you all dont think a 2x super bowl MVP (only 5 of those in NFL history) who is top 10 all time in multiple categories, who has some of the most memorable moments in NFL history doesnt belong in the HOF I am not sure what to tell you.
  3. In 2005 Eli was 5th in yards and tied for 4th in TDs. In 2006 Eli was tied for 4th in TDs. 2007 he was a super bowl champ and MVP. In 2008 the Giants won their division and had the #1 seed. Would have likely done better in the playoffs had Plax not shot himself. In 2009 he was 10th in yards and 8th in TDs. 2010 the Giants went 10-6 but missed the playoffs. Eli was 5th in yards and 4th in TDs. In 2011 Eli saved a bad team around him, went 9-7 and dominated the playoffs enroute to super bowl win and MVP #2. He was 4th in yards and 7th in TDs. In 2012 8th in TDs 2013 was a bad year. 2014 6th in yards, 9th in TDs. Had 30 TDs to 14 INTs. 2015 he was 2nd in TDs and 6th in yards. 2016 he was 7th in TDs and the Giants made the playoffs. 2017 wasnt a great year. The Giants were bad and fired McAdoo. 2018 was an okay year. 9th in yards. Only 21 TDs but only 10 INTs 2019 he was benched in favor of the rookie. There were a couple bad years in there. But most years he was top 10 in yards or TDs if not both and many years he was top 5 or top 3.
  4. Its a team sport. You cant fault Eli for poor drafts, bad offensive lines and bad defense. Brett Favre threw a lot of interceptions. In fact I think he is #1 all time. Eli has more super bowl wins, heck, more super bowl MVPs than Dalton does playoff wins. In his career, Eli has more super bowl MVPs than the rest of the teams in his division have super bowl wins.
  5. Some will make the Jim Plunkett argument but he doesnt have the MVPs or the career numbers Eli has.
  6. Im not gonna argue that Eli has had a better career than any of the players you mentioned. My point is it doesnt matter. More goes into a HOF career than having the most yards or TDs every year. Its why Aikman, Kelly, Elway etc got in.
  7. You like to point out he wasnt in the conversation for the best QB of his era. Thats not a requirement first of all, its something people make up to use against him. How is Rivers even in the conversation if you dont think Eli should get in? Their numbers are pretty close, and Eli has 2 championships vs 0 for Rivers. In fact, when did Roethlisberger win any MVPs or when was he considered the best QB over Peyton, Brady and Brees? He doesn't have the super bowl MVPs and has only lead the league in yards, never in TDs. I think Roethlisberger gets in too, but his numbers arent that much better overall than Eli's plus Eli has the more memorable super bowl runs.
  8. So you watched all of those games? They were obviously down, but just because they were down doesn't mean teams went into prevent defenses every time. Teams didn't want to lose and those 15 4th quarter TDs lead to several Giants victories that put them in the playoffs. The Giants defense stunk in 2011. Eli carried that team on his shoulders. He was absolutely the reason they made the playoffs that year. Without his play, they wouldnt have won 5 games.
  9. Jim Kelly is a pro football hall of famer. His career QBR is 84.4. He won no super bowls. Was never the league MVP. Troy Aikmans numbers really arent that great. Was never league MVP. Didnt lead the league in anything as far as I can tell. Career rating of 81.6. Im not saying these guys dont belong. They are there for a reason. There are plenty of reasons why Eli should be there too.
  10. How many of those elite QBs from this era can say they won multiple super bowls? How many have multiple super bowl MVPs? That is enough, on top of everything else he did, to cement his spot in the hall. Its not even a question.
  11. One funny thing about this debate. Eli doesn't care about it at all. He doesn't care what any of us think about his career. 😆
  12. And Elway probably had better teams around him. Eli has had garbage around him the last several years. And where does it say its the Hall of only players with elite numbers who have lead the league in statistical categories? Why do so many try and diminish the major accomplishments he does have? Its not like he was a bum his entire career and lucked into two super bowls and super bowl MVPs. He had a great career overall, and had those two miraculous seasons on top of it
  13. Some other interesting numbers... Eli has the NFL record for most passing yards in a single playoffs. He has the NFL record for most 4th quarter Td passes in a season. Tied NFL record for most game-winning drives in a season.
  14. No one cares about QBR. John Elway led the league in yards one time. He didnt lead the league in any major stat other than that either. He had a QB rating of 79.9 for his career. Did anyone complain as much when he went into the HOF? Eli is a HOFer and has the career to support it. Idk why so many are offended by that :lol2:
  15. In the 2011-12 NFC championship game... Eli missed the week of practice leading up to the game with the flu. He threw the ball 58 times, no interceptions, and was hit hard 12 times. He was sacked 6 times. It may be the best game of his career.
  16. Best throw in Super Bowl history? Twitter
  17. Re: the 2011-12 season... The Giants O line was ranked 32nd by PFF. The Giants were last in yards per carry AND yards rushing per game. Eli threw an NFL record 15 4th quarter TD passes. The Giants defense finished in the bottom 5. They won the Super Bowl that year. Without Eli they probably wouldnt have made the playoffs.
  18. I love it when people say ,"he isnt a HOFer but he will get in" Um....if he gets in he is a HOFer. And he will get in. Maybe not first ballot, but he will get in.
  19. 2 super bowl MVPs (only 5 players in NFL history have done that) 4 playoff 4th quarter come backs (3rd most in NFL history) Top 10 in yards, touchdowns, completions. Never missed a game because of injury. And if you really look into the 2011 season, there's no arguing against him being a top 3 QB that year at the very least. He willed a team with the worst O-line in football, no running game, and a defense ranked near the bottom of the league all year, to the playoffs. In those playoffs, he led the Giants who beat the Aaron Rodgers led 15-1 Packers in Lambeau. He took on one of the best defenses in the league and beat San Francisco in San Francisco for the NFC title game. Then he went on to make one of the, if not the greatest throw in super bowl history on a game winning drive (his pass to Manningham in SB 46 is as perfect of a throw as Ive ever seen). That was just the 2012 season. I don't know where you get that he was near the bottom of the league late in his career. He played on some bad teams, but very rarely was Eli the reason the Giants lost.
  20. If Eli doesnt escape the sack Tyree doesnt get a chance. No offense but thats a dumb argument. Did Plunkett finish his career top 10 all time in any categories? Did Plunkett never miss a game due to injury? You are right, plenty of average QBs have super bowl wins. That isn't what I asked. How many have TWO, with two super bowl MVPs? Only a handful of players have ever done that in the history of the NFL.
  21. How many above average QBs have two super bowl rings and two super bowl MVPs?
  22. Fyi, i read on Twitter that the stadium has its own police department. Not sure how accurate that is though.
  23. People always complaining that the police should de-escalate situations... This one sort of did. He didnt create a situation in the locker room by immediately arresting him. Some of the same people criticizing him for obtaining a warrant would have criticized him for immediately throwing the cuffs on too, especially if it turned it in to a worse situation where force had to be used. I hope OBJ figures things out. It seems like he is spiralling out of control. I hate to see that.
