The Creek lost a valuable member to the team last night when FB/MLB Andre Brown went down. He dislocated his ankle and broke his fibia. He will be out for the season. However, FC rallied for the first time and withstood adversity to beat a really good football team in Manual. Both teams have a tremendously tough schedule and wins will be tough to come by. We are proud of our Creek football team. Keep it up guys.

Coach G was a quality man as well as coach. I was able to get to know him during my stay at Trigg Co. I respected him greatly and always appreciated his input into my coaching career. QUALITY MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope my 67 year old father does not die of a heart attack this summer while mowing the yard in 94 degree heat index? Because they may indict my mother who knows he has a heart condition but could not stop him from mowing the yard if she wanted to. Tragic yes, criminal NO WAY!!! The players are under the care of the coach for 3-4 hours a day at most, and about 20 hours under the care of the parents. Coaches can only hydrate them during their watch, which anyone that has attended a medical symposium knows is not near as important as hydrating the athlete the rest of the day. Was he being properly cared for the rest of the day is a question that I hope is asked? I definitely have sympathy for the family of the player, but now have more for the coach. This man is not responsible for this tragic accident.

Did Fern Creek give St. X a better scrimmage last week than Henry Clay? What's your thoughts Tiger fans?

If "ifs and buts" were candy and nuts, oh what a wonderful Christmas we would all have?

Prior to last season's thrashing of Trigg Co. Ft. Campbell was 4-2 against Trigg Co. with an avg. point differential of 5 pts. Three of the six games decided by 7 points or less. These two teams have battled during the Berner era. If Ft. Campbell beats Trigg again like they did in 2007, then they have definitely separated themselves from their northern rival.

Kentucky Weslyan is getting 3 Fern Creek kids al well. All District player both offensively and defensively: Deon Chaney (FB/MLB) Leon Carter (DB) Ben Farquar (OT) Will try and play TE at Ky. Weslyan Congratulations to these young men as well.

C. J Croft was the best leader on the field that I have seen in years. He demanded the respect of his players and he got it. They definitely followed his lead. That will be hard to replace. Ft. Campbell always has talent. Coach Berner has made sure of that the past few years and he gets alot out of his players. The question is, have they really put that much space between them and Owensboro Catholic and Trigg Co? Just two seasons ago they went out in the first round, then last year they won the whole thing. Those 3 teams have been the elite in 2A for the past 5-7 years in Western Kentucky.

Why does Footballfool always start or spread untrue rumors about the Creek? What do you have against Fern Creek and Coach Higgins? Aren't you the same poster that claimed the big lineman last year did nothing to warrant Higgins not to allow him back on the team after he quit and cussed out the coaches and fans at the Eastern game? Fern Creek should be good this year, but the question is can they beat any of the good teams (Male, Manual, St. X or Trinity). That is how you really measure their improvement. They were much better last year under first year Head Coach Higgins, but can they become an elite team like in the late 90's.

What does Coach Preston teach? I thought he taught ECE? Can't believe Bullitt East would select their coach based on teaching certification? I know that Foster taught ECE as well. I think they selected the coach they wanted, not the coach that fit a teaching opening.

It seemed the number of schools was way down for this meet, is this true?? No Hopkinsville or Christian Co. I did not see Greenwood there either? What about Scott Co., were they there? Only about 3 schools from Jefferson Co. WHAT'S UP WITH THIS?

Fern Creek's Offensive Lineman: Alex Zimmerman. At 6'1" 265lbs. , he may be to short for big time football but he has very good grades and works hard on and off the field. MAC or other mid-major conference could get a good one. Jimmie Welch, small back at 5'9" 165 lbs. Rushed for over 1,200 as a junior, had over 400 receiving and over 500 yards of K.O. and punt returns. Good grades, definite qualifier as well. Mid-major or D1AA prospect. The Creek's on the Rise, Get caught in the Flood!!

For once in about 5 years, the road to a Regional Title does not go thru Owensboro or Ft. Campbell. This in mind I feel Trigg can win. Sixth chance for a Regional Title in school history, last won one under Coach Jones in 1989. Trigg lost to Glasgow in 2001 and Owensboro Catholic in 2006 (both losses in O.T.) If this game does not go to O.T. then I'll take Trigg. Defense is the key, best defensive team will win, forget about their offenses.

South needs to give the ball to Kollenberg about 25-30 plays and have the qb carry it 10-15 off of Kollenberg fakes. This will net them about 28 pts. Then they need to play their best kids on D, kids that will come up and make a hit from the secondary and Lb'er position. This said they still may not win, but they could. And if they do they could win next week as well and win the district. After that whoever comes out is done.
