  1. Again, people are assuming a bias that may not be there in this case.
  2. Of course the question is out there but it still doesn't mean we can answer it one way or another. However, the only other evidence that has been shared would lend itself to say that the store does refuse bathroom access to all non paying customers.
  3. Profiling by Starbucks employees. Police handled it perfectly.
  4. Thanks for sharing, will have to watch for MN games as we don't get too many on TV around here.
  5. I never paid too much attention to her but she always seemed like a decent person. RIP.
  6. I know the traditional advice has been to start being less aggressive as you near retirement. However with the time people live now most of us are going to have 25 years or better in retirement. Don't stop being aggressive with your funds too early.
  7. They did not give that out. I was surprised that a person with 43 days in the majors gets $34,000 a year for life and one day in the majors gets them Lifetime Health Insurance. unbelievable.
  8. If he manages to get one more year in he's looking at a pension of over $200,000.
  9. Because it's never been part of their decision making process. They didn't say "I'm going into teaching because of the money". It's way down the list. I went into accounting because of the money. I didn't go because of the cushy, inside, temperature controlled atmosphere I get to work in while I cruise the internet on the company dime. But take away my heat or air conditioning, make me stand up all day, or cut off my internet and I'm going to raise cain.
  10. You said it yourself, you have to be able to live and support your family. Money matters but it is never a reason to go into teaching other than your friend who apparently could not get work elsewhere.
  11. Nice try. Why wouldn't they? They'rs still in a profession they chose for reasons other than money. They're doing the same work, helping the same people. If money was their motivations, why wouldn't they change to jobs where they can make much much more? Are the teachers protesting for more pay? I must have missed that.
  12. Then they're the very rare exception who is cheating their students but then again, that shows how hard up some schools already are because good people are choosing not to go the teaching route. It's going to get worse.
  13. 60 plus years and I have met no one who went into teaching for the money. Prime example, my nephew and his wife both received their degrees in Math. He also received his education degree. He had better grades than her, is more outgoing and personable, was an Eagle scout and held leadership positions in many organizations. She did not. 3 years out of school and he's making 36,000 a year teaching while she is making 65,000. Your friend doing it for a paycheck will never stick.
  14. So, you DO think someone goes into teaching for the money? Ever met someone like that?
  15. I hope he goes to the SEC or the Big Ten, that way I would have the chance to watch him on TV almost every week.
  16. I don't know that I could move on. It is a very disturbing story.
  17. I'd say the current system is not sustainable because the state cannot fund it. Not without making decisions they are not willing to make and citizens are not going to accept.
  18. A couple years back a friend of mine subbed and he made about $80 per day I believe.
  19. That's my only concern if a TE wants to consider Alabama. Of course, playing for championships most years and getting drafted by the NFL would certainly ease the disappointment of not seeing too many passes thrown their way.
  20. Do you think that's relevant to how Alabama uses their TE's today under Saban? I think there's been a little bit of change in 40 years.
  21. He did but can you name another? Even OJ was underutilized. They seemed to use him once in a while just to give the other teams something to think about. Of course with their running game and recent wide receivers you can't really blame them.
