I agree… I think if there’s one program that should hire an up and coming coach with energy, vision, and willing to stay for several years, it’s Greenup. Recycling one of the older, experienced but unexceptional coaches won’t turn the tide IMO.

Fair enough, and that’s probably my age talking, too. Growing up watching 64th and 63rd district games, I’ve always mentally separated the “big” and “small” teams/schools/jobs as Ashland, Boyd Co, Russell and Greenup vs Raceland, Fairview, Lewis and Rose Hill. Lawrence Co was in that bunch for a while, too but they always seemed to lose to Ashland or Boyd Co most years.

Any one have rumors or insights into two big-time open jobs? Both Boyd County and Greenup County are open. Greenup has been open for a while, I haven't heard a peep though about candidates or interviews.

Is it just me or does it feel like Mason County is overdoing it at this point? lol

This past season? Does he have any varsity experience? Menifee seems to be in a tough state... wish him the best! Hopefully he can get them moving in the right direction at least.

Any word on who will be on staff with Coach Stovall this upcoming season?

What does everyone think about the favorites for next season... would it have to be 1) Henderson, then 2) Hopkins Co Central, followed by 3) Lyon County? How good is Christian County expected to be in Year 1?

Coach Randy Anderson has resigned as Boyd County Head Coach for Boys Basketball. He is coming off a trip to the Sweet 16 this past season. Congratulations on a long and productive career to Coach Anderson. Anyone know of any favorites for the position? This is good school and good job. Could attract an established head coach. If you recall, Coach Anderson himself was hired as an existing head coach at Lawrence County when he first arrived at Boyd.

Which teams will be the favorite to win their respective districts? Ashland, Russell, Rowan, and who in the 62nd?

I have heard a name of a former 16th region player from the 64th district that applied, would be a first time head coach I believe. But was a really good player maybe 20-22 years ago. I also heard that former Coach Allison might be applying, as well as some of the existing Greenup Co staff or the girls coach Ruggles.

Coach Davis is one of the best coaches in the state. His father, Jerry, is a tremendous coach as well. Does anyone know if Jerry will be working with Jeff at Bell County?

I don't know Coach Sutton personally, but from what I've been told, Coach Sutton was just making a personal choice in being able to spend more time with family. He stepped up last year to fill the role when they had trouble finding the replacement. The man bleeds green for GC and filled in when he had to, but didn't want to do it long-term. At least that's the info I was told. Any likely candidates for this role? Or will they look "outside" (outside the region)?
