Head Coach Jay Cobb and the Trinity Shamrocks make the 4+ hour drive west to St. Louis to face the Cadets of Christian Brothers (CBC). Kick off is 6:30 pm CST. The Rocks (1-0) are coming off a running clock 59 - 13 blowout road win over highly ranked Anderson (OH). For the Trinity offense, QB Zane Johnson, RB’s JB Berry and Ashton Taylor and TE Jack Stivers all had big games. The Rocks passed for 209 yards and ran for 234 yards vs the Raptors. On defense the Shamrocks held Anderson to 13 points (the Raptors averaged scoring 42 ppg in 2025). Defensive stars for Trinity were DL Sebastian Blue, LB Luke Vize and DBs LA Evans and Elijah Burns Crump. CBC Head Coach Scott Pingel (18 years, 3 state titles) and the Cadets finished 2025 at 11-1. They enter 2026 ranked #1 in Missouri. This game will be the season opener for CBC. Cadets to watch are WR’s Isaiah Thomas and Kingston McPike, DB’s Milton Proctor and Josh Beasley and DL Que Porter. Not a blow out. The freshman and varsity games were more that way. In the JV game, Trinity led by 15-20 throughout the game with Anderson scoring late in Q4 with Trinity subs on the field.

I think the North Oldham contingent were reading their own preseason press clippings. Lafayette is a far cry from the teams they had a few years ago that made noise in the post season, but they are still a 6A squad with the type of physicality that has always given North Oldham fits.

The Moeller QB was very unimpressive. They need to fix that in a hurry. Their special teams also gave Princeton a couple of very short fields. Moeller defense is fine.

Each game time posted on Arbiter or KHSAA is “supposed to be” the time zone of the location/venue where the game is being played.

I have a feeling the speed of the Owensboro defense and a hostile Red Devil crowd will be problematic for the inexperienced Tiger offense and QB.

WEB Dubois will surprise some folks this season. This is a program on the rise that will pull some talent away from some of the weaker JCPS football programs.

Pikeville’s only chance is to force 2 or 3 CAL turnovers and move the chains and run clock when they have the ball. Otherwise, CAL has too much offensive firepower.
