Imo, if Pikeville plays like they know they can, they win this one. Pikeville won it last season convincingly at Boyd Co., but as we all know this is a different year. Going with the Panthers in this one.

Yes, I think they are, but some things are going to have to be made right if they want to be at Kroger Field.

24-6 final score is less than I predicted, but as they say "A win is a win". This was an ugly win. Pikeville is not playing like the typical Pikeville team, such as, breaking out of the huddle late, looking confused at times, playing like they're in a fog, no urgency of the game. Play calling seems out of sorts most times. Something needs to be fixed and fixed SOON. They're not playing like the typical Pikeville teams we've seen the past few years of their championship run, and certainly not like a Coach Mac and staff coached team we've seen for years. Give Hazard credit, they played like they wanted the win more than Pikeville. This team has tons of talent for class 1-A, but it's of no benefit if it's not coordinated the way it should be. Get it together Panthers!

Yes. That is a huge honor for him, and that was no easy accomplishment. Really didn't think anyone at PHS would break Honaker's record at least up to this point. Just hope he remains healthy from here on out.

How's the injury report for Hazard looking?

Yeah, I think they were trying on some passing situations, but didn't pan out too good for them. The good thing is everyone is HEALTHIER than they have been except for one player, so hopefully they're about ready for the 2nd season.

I think all Pikeville fans will never forget that playoff loss in 2020 as that was a hard lesson to learn. Good luck and injury free game to both teams this Friday evening!

Imo, Hazard will be more competition than what Paintsville gave at Memorial Field. Although Paintsville is trying to heal up from injuries incurred in recent games, as well as Pikeville. Pikeville looked better overall last night as those silly special teams mistakes were better controlled and easier on the eyes. Don't know anything about this season's edition of the bull dawgs, but they always put up a great fight either at their place or Hambley. Imo, the Panthers get the W in this one as they seem to be on the right track now, even though they're still playing with some injuries.

Not to disparage Paintsville in any way, but no problem for Pikeville, and this as a result of a real tough schedule. Those that have been injured are healing and the Panthers seem to be turning the corner at the right time. Safe and injury free game to both teams.

True, and Pikeville is losing some studs to graduation. Great talent coming up which will be great experience for them.

If I were you, I wouldn't rely on "hearsay". I heard it DIRECTLY from the Pikeville AD. It was a one year deal to fill an open date on Pikeville's schedule. This is the 2nd year of a two year cycle. Since there was no return game, Ironton received/will receive a stipend. If you ever learn anything about Pikeville, they will NEVER back down from stiff competition. To confirm that truth, next season CAL a 3-A school will be on the Pikeville schedule.

I watched it close. Yes, I'm a Pikeville fan. Both teams were flagged. Looked even to me. Pikeville kept the score tied for three quarters, but got outplayed fourth quarter. Special teams for Pikeville is NOT doing their part to help with a win.

From what I've been told there will be more than Brenden Anthony not playing, as well as wide out Mikey Hagar and rb/de Isaiah Stanley, and more that I'm just not sure of. Imo, this could be a running clock, but the Panthers will not lay down and will fight until the end.

Ironton opened on a drive against Clarkson North that saw them having to punt for only the second time in the first five games of the season. They've played a pretty tough schedule and Clarkson North being one of them. As previously mentioned, Clarkson did look like an NFL team, HUGE across the front! Ironton losing by only one point to a team like that speaks volumes. To say I'm cautiously optimistic for a Pikeville win would be putting it mildly. Lol!

Really good win for Pikeville. To be honest, I would have thought GRC would win this one, but the Pikeville D stepped up to stop them. Special teams play is still an issue and needs to be readdressed! Thanks again to Coach Cherico and team for making the trip. First class program and fans.
