They do it every year vs New Cath because (and I am gonna butcher this so someone help out here) Coach Evinston went to NCC and His Brother, who also went to NCC is wheelchair bound I think for ALS, and this game every year in some way benefits a charity or something…..I know I just killed this completely, but it something like that….

From what has clearly been happening in practice I think and quite frankly hope, that folks are under estimating the dramatic impact, even as a Sophomore, that B. Smith will have on every single offensive possession this season. He has been unreal and unstoppable.

I think it’s the Moeller B Team…..

Word is Moeller is being added to the Colonels Frosh schedule on that open date….

The Freshman OLine is no joke. Big and fast with some working at Black Sheep and Nevels year round. Legit…..Cline, Howard, Thom, and Trowbridge are names to remember.

I think I have the sides of the line right…. Johnny Lind RT 6’4 268 Sr Sam Miller RG 6’2 235 Jr Colin Vinson C 6’2 235 Sr Adam Black LG 6’3 260 Jr Landon Robinson 6’4 275 Jr Remember the name Sam Miller…..think Ben Reeves, but maybe bigger.

To stick Lind and the Trenches, I am hearing really really good things about what is looking like the 1st Team O-Line…..fast, aggressive, with an attitude…..hearing the staff is very very happy where they are with that group…..

The latest just today…..Lind will be a nightmare for every team this fall!

@CCHFC and @theguru which 2 are you seeing as the losses?…….I happily and confidently reiterate my earlier post that We will beat Elder. I think we are 9-1 with a loss to either Indy Cathedral or a possible upset loss to Beechwood, but I do not see the latter happening. Courtney is about to blow people away with what He is going to do this year. Think AJ Mayer, but just off that. And trust me when I say we will be way way faster the Defensive Backfield and Offensive skills than anyone is thinking/gameplanning for. And our team speed will be better than last year. Our front 7 will be deadly. We have not had the combination of size and speed and experience in that group in years. The athleticism at LB will be off the charts. Our opportunity right now is who will be the bell cow to tote the rock….it may be committee to start. Cash Meyer and the Sophomore, Miller will get the first crack….and Miller is not built and does not run like a Sophomore. 9-1 and I’ll stand by it…..gotta be a Keg half full Colonel!!! Go Colonels!!!

Cov. Cath.’s Summer schedule…..anyone by chance know times of the home games?

Anyone want to take a crack at the lineup now that Spring ball is over…..heard Courtney looked unreal at QB; Cash Meyer is moving to RB; starting RB though is rumored to be very unsettled; the OLine is unsettled and they have a lot of pieces on D that they are still trying to fit in. 2 biggest questions for me; will the Colonels throw more this year with Courtney’s monster arm and with all the insane WR talent and did Coach Woolf move the D from a 3-4 to a 4-3? Go Colonels!

I have heard there has been some back and forth between Cov. Cath and St. Henry about their Frosh teams playing this year…..high level and nothing definite at all….

It is looney tunes is the nicest way I can say it if you think Lind and Robinson will not be much of a factor……I spilled my Adult Soda laughing so dang hysterically at that little nugget. Lind was all Greater Cincinnati last year as a Junior. Lind is a superior athlete to Queen in every way and there is not a single Beechwood OLineman that will be able to block Lind, let alone both Lind and Robinson. It’s not even close. To even suggest that is just straight disrespect period. I mean there is being a homer, which I happily admit to being easily, and there is just not knowing or understanding talent and how that talent absolutely disrupts everything and everyone. There is no debate on the fact Cov. Cath.’s front 7, led by Lind and Robinson, is superior. It’s not even close. Games are won in the trenches and to not get that is to not get football.

I am in my spare time and there is always 100% truth in the best comedy….we win if we can contain Estep.

People really need to read that above and know that it is absolutely true. We will be more athletic than we have been and I know what we had last year, but this groups is going to be different and better. I fully expect Cash Meyer, Dylan Courtney, and especially in a huge huge way Brandon Smith to have breakout monster years on both sides of the ball. And Pitzer may just explode on both sides of the ball as this is His year. Our upcoming Sophomore class is arguably the most talented class we have had and a few of those youngsters will be heard from early and often. Early prediction…..if we keep Elder’s QB Estep in-check and bring the same fight to Highlands we brought last year, we will run the table in the regular season…..yes, that means beating Elder. Mostly because the elephant in the room is the monster upgrade we made in the Coaching Staff bringing in Coach Woolf (‘88) and Coach Weinrich. We were a great staff before and now we are legendary. Talent will carry the day as Dudes from all 3 classes will contribute. They will be a fun team to watch……

I disagree with part of this for sure…..yes Pabst, Fryman, and Arrasmith are very very special in a big big way…..but 3 guys a team does not make. As a whole Cov Cath will be clearly better. Queen is overrated with no movement or speed at all. And that matters because Cov. Cath.’s front 7 will be better than last years insane group and faster and stronger. Queen will have zero time to throw being constantly harassed by Lind and Robinson up front as there is no one on Beechwood’s line that can come close to matching up with either of those 2. Pitzer, Payne, and Meyer’s all return at LB and all come down hill with speed and tenacity and again will over match Beechwood’s OLine and RB. And with Lind, Robinson, and Miller anchoring our OLine, this will give our offense more than enough time to get the yardage needed to wear down an out matched Beechwood D. Yes, those 3 skill players for Beechwood are beyond special and we are mostly young at the skills, but with Thornton, Cogswell, and Reardon backed up by our front 7 on D and our OLine, and the fact that our overall team conditioning will be miles better, I’ll take a dominant win in the trenches for Cov Cath to prevail on the scoreboard. Might be close, but the trenches get it done for Cov Cath

I checked Him and this is who I was thinking of…..explosive. Wow. He will be a starter and a key piece on both sides of both. RB screen to Him will be unstoppable. He may not be as shifty as Geiser, but He will attack just as well with insane get off speed. When He is a Senior He will be special to watch….

I pretty much agree with almost all of this. At RB isn’t there a RB with the first name Jace that really really came on at the end of last year that may get a high number of carries? I do believe we have some serious talent in the pipeline on both sides of the line at the incoming Freshmen and current Freshman levels…..Woolf, Dalton, Thom, Howard, Trowbridge, and Wickiser are all names to keep on eye on at both of those levels. They may not be as big as Lind and Robinson(both will be the best in the Region), but they do have some size and all are crazy athletic. And we have massively upgraded the Coaching Staff which will reap immediate rewards. Best in the region there as well. Other than that, stellar take as usual.

I thought Carter Black was just hired as O-Line Coach or are they doing it together?

Woolf is running the Def as DC and Weinrich will Coach DB’s.
