As a teacher who has recently relocated to NKY from a rural district in central KY, the disparity you talk about may be even more startling than you realize. With a Rank I and multiple years of experience, I saw a 30% increase in my salary. Not to mention the job I interviewed for in NKY had 7 qualified applicants within 3 weeks. Where I left had a similar open position for two years with only 1 qualified applicant (myself). How does that affect this open position? I think Boone may need to look outside the box and consider calling on young assistants or new, recent HC's from the rural districts in other parts of the state. I think those individuals may find the community support, financial commitment from the district, caliber of player, quality of the feeder programs, etc compares favorably to where they came from. Even if Boone is not the premier job it was 15-25 years ago, it could represent a significant step up from the rural districts in Southern and Eastern KY.

I get what you are saying, but I think it's also important for admin and the coaches to be grounded in reality (not saying you aren't). This game has zero chance of being competitive for the foreseeable future. Danville needs to build a .500 level program again before they should reconsider playing this game.

I'm going to guess that the jobs will not have equal candidates.

Highlands has always reminded me of Notre Dame in this way.

I believe they had plans during Fall Break.

They had Boyle on the ropes like no one else did last year. A few under-armed throws here and there or a few less hurdles and they could have taken Boyle out. That being said, losing the Smith Twins on defense will have a huge impact on them. I'm not sure that Corbin has the depth to replace those 4 star studs. They can have a great year, but they won't be state champs in 4A.

Absolutely. What's the alternative? 100% availability from potential free agents like Marquise Brown or Darnell Mooney? Give me Chase and Higgins 10 times out of 10.

Boyle County's Sage Dawson signs with Air Force

I could be very wrong about this, but I thought everyone who enrolled in the service academies made a commitment to join the armed services as an officer for 5-8 years immediately following their graduation in exchange for a full scholarship. -
Scott Hires Justin Franklin as new Head Coach

I can understand that, thank you for sharing. It's too bad it didn't work out, hopefully there's another time, he sounds like a great coach and one that the Scott AD absolutely nailed. -

What? He'd always dreamed of leaving Florida to coach in Taylor Mill? I like NKY as much as the next guy, but I'm taking Florida 100/100 times. -
Hope he wants who the parents want. It sounds like they are calling the shots.

I'm sure you are right and what he wants is a big factor. If I were an owner, I'd be interested in interviewing this guy as opposed to the 19th branch off the McVay/Shananan tree. -
Chargers get their man...Harbaugh!

Some buzz he could end up on the coaching staff. -

Why is he not getting more pop as an HC candidate? If Dan Quinn can potentially get a 2nd chance, Spagnuolo should be getting interviewed left and right. -

I dunno bud. Leaps and bounds feels awful strong. I can live with saying he's ahead of Brady at this point in his career, but not by leaps and bounds. I'd also add that part of Brady's greatness was that he was able to sustain his level of play for literally 20 years. Mahomes hasn't even done half of that yet. I'm not saying he couldn't. But I'm not willing to say Mahomes is the greatest QB of all time when Brady literally just retired a few years ago and held a 2-0 record against Mahomes in the playoffs. -

Easy there.... He's on his way. He's got about 3 more Super Bowls to seriously contend with Brady. -

Brady can be Mahomes in this analogy. But Lamar is not Peyton...that's Burrow. Literally no one else has beaten him (Mahomes) in meaningful games other than Brady and Burrow. -

No doubt about that. He definitely proved to be worth that contract he signed.
