  1. Success is the only motivational factor that a man with character needs and a big congratulations goes to Coach Burke for his hard work and dedication. This is definitely the scuttlebutt at Happy Hour tonight amongst the local patrons. 4-6 and 3rd place normally does not garner such accolades but good for him and may Dixie's success continue!
  2. That would have been a very small minority that like to post on social media. The staff has done an amazing job and the program is in a better place from top to bottom. Brick by brick. Doing it the right way.
  3. The only meaningful statistic is number of games won. Woody
  4. Both are good players. O’Hara really impressed me last week and is going to be really special. Benke is NKY 1 and maybe the best player in the State.
  5. In the 70’s we would revoke a MAN card for such a ridiculous overture!
  6. And Cam Geisler is right there as well!
  7. I have always said that when you are winning, you don’t need any friends and when you are losing, you don’t have any friends. We are talking about Pre-Game Punt team so the Birds must be winning. I am definitely modifying my post game dinner reservation so that I do not miss any of the excitement this week. I like my Birds by 2 scores this week with a valiant effort from those hard working Dixie Colonels! @Fan of Karen, thinking about a little Pre-Game warm-up at Barleycorns Lakeside Park if you are down.
  8. That makes complete sense to me. Unfortunately, I had to leave the game midway through the 4th Qtr with the score 59-38 to catch a dinner reservation with @Fan of Karenat Marbl. Perhaps we ordered our desert too early but it was still very good.
  9. Jags had no chance to win. It was like a cat playing with a little mouse.
  10. Cooper had no chance to win that game.
  11. Birds took the foot off of the gas. Could have done whatever they wanted. Final score was “Fools Gold” for Cooper.
  12. Cheesecake Factory! Yum! @Fan of Karen you know I love this place but the chances of running into Colonels greatly increases. They are normally working the Valet so if you do stop by there today, remember to lock the glove box and probably not a good idea to leave any valuables in your car. And be the bigger person I know you are and tip well! See you tonight.
  13. Fan of Karen, you have always been a Dear Friend of Mine! Stellar choice choosing Marbl for your Pre-Game dining. It is a bit pricey but in this case, at least you won't have to worry about any unruly Colonels disrupting your fine dining experience. Might I suggest the 3-Layer Cheese Cake for desert? You should get it to go as you will want to enjoy that for your late night treat!
  14. I can not imagine why this won't happen Is Marbl closed?
  15. There is no reason to be disappointed in the WR group and there was no struggle there. It was a scrimmage and scripted from play 1 to the final play with the goal of seeing seeing what new tools are in the arsenal and there are plenty.
  16. Some kids love to compete. Some kids do not. It is a Fight or Flight mentality and no kid should expect to climb a depth chart just because he thinks he should. It has to be earned. Good luck to the young man but these stories all end the same way.
  17. Special Teams is a combination of KOR, KO, Punt Return, Field Goal, etc. While not perfect, the Special Teams were stellar all season and put us in opportunities to win Football Games. Charlie Noon is an amazing talent and a pleasure to watch each and every week. Davis Burleigh set the school record for field goals and will be sorely missed. The rest of the special teams were well prepared and executed at a very high level. I will agree that there is always room for improvement but I am more than proud of these boys and the coaching staff. You are correct about my prediction for the Frosh Team but look out for these kids in the coming years. They are SPECIAL and will do Big Things! Go Birds!
  18. Well put and spot on. Our young Birds maximized their potential and had an opportunity to win the game. The team got better every game. Despite the blocked punt yesterday (credit to Scott) special teams have been great which is clear to anyone that has a true knowledge of the game. There are a lot of young up and coming Birds and the weight room will pay dividends once again. Look for the offensive and defensive line to be dominant.
  19. Kudos to To David Burleigh for eclipsing the Single Season Record for Field Goals and to the Varsity Football Team for a job well done and monumental accomplishment. It was a great night for the team, coaching staff and community! And hey, at least we are not talking about warm ups! ?
  20. Some people are just great at commentary I guess. Grab a whistle and not a key board and meet me at the fieldhouse at 6:30am. Its not for everyone!
  21. There are dads on this staff but they are grinding and will continue to do so. They are putting the work in places that are needed and are building this program up. They don't pick and choose which games they come to and will practice each day and most likely have the first undefeated Freshmen season in some time and that did not happen with the past regime.
  22. Really? The program is better than it's been in years and the staff is ? upgraded!
