A player I would love to see have a complete game getting the ball is Colt Kremer. He has shown glimpses of a really nice running back but it seems like we see him early then don’t feed him the ball throughout the game. I get there are other players to feed. Just would really like to see how he could wear down the defenses if you gave him a full game look. Colt has a very bright future only being a Sophomore, just feel like this could be a game that you could give him more looks then they have done throughout the season, especially with Gabe out, Colt could be a nice compliment to Tayden down the stretch running the ball.

This is how I see it as well. I think it’s going to be a grind of a game in 1st half, then Birds pull ahead enough to get Ashland out of their running game and then that is when the Birds are going to pile it on.

OK, to answer where the money is going to: The email (from Wes AD) stated it will be going to the Athletic Department and the Broadcasting Department.

Totally understandable.... 2 things 1. Just the messenger here making sure people that want to watch it know where to go and that it will cost a fee and NOT be free.... if you read a disgruntled tone you are mistaken.... 2. I personally just want to know if its the $8 Wes (AD) stated it would be via email or will it be $11.49 which it states on the hudl link....

A couple things… 1. I’m trying to post the Hudl link but not working the way I want 2. it looks to me that it’s going to cost $11.49 to subscribe to watch this game NOT the $8 that was communicated by the Highlands AD via email…. So I don’t know whose right or wrong on the price ?♂️ Stay tuned, big point here is that there will NOT be a free option to watch this game via streaming.

BREAKING NEWS REGARDING THE LIVESTREAM OF THIS GAME Communication just came out to be able to watch the Livestream of this game you will need to purchase a one-time subscription fee of $8, which is the same cost as a game ticket. Totally agree, as painful of a performance it was down at Boyle Co when Rio's stat line was 11/31 for 144 yards, 2 TD/1 INT He has overcome and outperformed ever since.... Litmer's stats since Boyle Co (last 7 games): 81 for 108 (75% comp) for 1,099 yards, 14 TDs & 4 INTs (No INTs since Elder game) Think about that, at Boyle he threw 20 incomplete passes, since that game in 7 games he has only thrown 27 incomplete passes altogether... crazy Very well done RIO!!! Keep it rolling....

So I was asked "Could Cov Cath vs Highlands happen prior to the State Championship scenario above?". Just because I was asked I looked into a potential earlier game scenario and this is what I figured out: Quarterfinal game chances: 0%, there isn't any scenario this Thu/Fri that an outcome could result in a Cov Cath vs Highlands game next week in the Quarterfinals Semifinal game chances: Slight chance, Elizabethtown would be the team to watch this Friday vs Logan Co. Winners this week would need to be: PADUCAH, ELIZABETHTOWN, SPENCER CO, FRANKLIN CO, HIGHLANDS, COV CATH, BOYLE, & CORBIN advancing... Then in the Quarterfinal games the outcomes need to be: Spencer Co at Franklin Co (Franklin Co wins) Elizabethtown at Paducah (Elizabethtown wins) Cov Cath at Boyle Co (Cov Cath wins) Corbin at Highlands (Highlands wins) If those games play out this way then your Semifinal games would be: Elizabethtown at Franklin Co Cov Cath at Highlands ps....there might be other scenarios "technically" but I didn't even look into if someone like Wayne Co, Valley, or Franklin Simpson advanced after this weekend since those outcomes are HIGHLY unlikely I will say, other than the excitement of having a potential rematch against Cov Cath, these scenarios would also create in either case that Highlands would NOT play an away game during this run to Kroger Field.

Before I get to excited about this potential, can someone smarter than me look at my work to see if this makes sense. Trying to play out a likely scenario to cause NKY to go NUTS in Kroger Field having a State Championship game of Cov Cath vs Highlands.... Based on the RPI's here is how it would go down: So this weekend, if all the games play out like the current polling is showing we have: PADUCAH, LOGAN CO, SPENCER CO, FRANKLIN CO, HIGHLANDS, COV CATH, BOYLE, & CORBIN advancing... These will be the matchups for the Quarterfinals: Spencer Co at Franklin Co (Franklin Co wins) Logan Co at Paducah (Paducah wins) Cov Cath at Boyle Co (Cov Cath wins) Corbin at Highlands (Highlands wins) These will be the matchups for the Semifinals: Cov Cath at Franklin Co (Cov Cath wins) Paducah at Highlands (Highlands wins) Cov Cath then will need to win their 3rd consecutive playoff road game to advance to Kroger Field. Highlands will need to beat Paducah..... Then we have ourselves a NKY miracle in the making with Cov Cath vs Highlands in the State Championship game... Smarter people, do I have everything correct in all these assumptions?

Game time: 7:30 (New kickoff time) Highlands Bluebirds (9-2) Highlands rolls into this game on a nice 3 game winning streak after their 2nd loss at Elder. They should be really fresh after having a Bye week 2 weeks ago and then hitting the running clock on Greenup County a few minutes into the 2nd Quarter. The 4A District 5 Player of the Year Tayden Lorenzen should be even more fresh basically seeing very little action against Greenup. Will this be a game that they will utilize him or will they utilize their other weapons that they used against Greenup? Ashland Tomcats (7-4) Ashland’s offense has finally reappeared with an absolute clinic against Mason County. The Tomcats feature one of the most dominant running backs in the state in Cam Davis. He needs to be in top form for Ashland to have a chance. Ashland is hesitant to ever throw the ball, though they let Tanner Stutler do a little more of that in the blowout win over Mason. Expect a ground and pound style aimed at keeping the pace controlled and limiting the Birds’ big plays. Common opponents: Mason County: Highlands beat 42-6, Ashland beat 48-8 Greenup County: Highlands beat 35-7, Ashland beat 35-21 History: Highlands knocked off Ashland 3 straight years during the 2012, 2013, 2014 playoffs. The closest one of those games was 2014 when Highlands won 30-15 Frank's pick: I see this staying close for the 1st half then the Birds pulling ahead "potentially" getting dangerously close to the running clock late in the 2nd half. ps.
