Somerset (8-1) makes the long trip to Hopkinsville to take on Christian County (3-5) in a game that is huge for Somerset's RPI. The Briar Jumpers are coming off a district title clinching win at Monroe County. Although the final score of the game was 41-14, Somerset didn't play particularly well against the Falcons. The Jumpers had over 150 yards in penalties and struggled defensively in the first half against the short passing game of Monroe. The game was tied 14-14 at halftime before Somerset scored 27 unanswered points in the 2nd half. Christian County is coming off of a huge 24-21 win against McCracken County. Although the Tigers record is only 3-5, don't be fooled, they are a solid football team. The combined record of the teams that have defeated Christian County is 38-10. The Tigers are playing at home and Somerset will have a 3 hour bus ride to Hopkinsville. If the Jumpers get off to a sluggish start this week, they will quickly find themselves in a hole. Who wins this one and why?

Scott County has surrendered 180 points to Woodford County in the 4 meetings between the teams from 2024-26. That's 45 points a game. Unless the Cardinals quit steadfastly refusing to play defense against the Yellow Jackets, I don't see things changing much.

Somerset takes a knee on the Monroe County 3 yard line and runs out the clock. Somerset wins 41-14 and clinches the #1 seed in the district. They will have to be much better next week and in the playoffs.

Somerset stops a Monroe County fake punt attempt and score 3 plays later. The Briar Jumpers lead the Falcons 34-14 with about 10 minutes to go in the game.

No such thing as an uncatchable rule in HS football. If it's an eligible receiver and their attempt to catch the ball is impeded it's interference.

With all that the Ads have went through in the last week, I'd really like to see them pull off the win. But if their defense gave up 42 to Knox Central, 26 to Washington County, and 29 to Anderson County, I can't see them holding LCA under 40. The Ads will score some points, but I think the Eagles will be too much. LCA 49, Danville 21.

Somerset (6-1, 3-0 district) makes the trip to Tompkinsville to take on Monroe County (5-2, 2-0 district) in a game that will potentially decide the district championship, and a number one seed in the playoffs. A win by Somerset clinches the district, while Monroe still has a district match-up with Green County remaining on the schedule. The Falcons, after graduating a very good senior class, has been better than expected this season. The Briar Jumpers have steamrolled their district competition thus far, outscoring their district goes by a combined score of 165-0. The teams have two common opponents: both teams had a running clock win against Clinton County, Somerset defeated Metcalf County 42-0 while Monroe defeated the Hornets 28-6. Both teams are coming off of their Bye weeks. The Briar Jumpers are a prohibitive favorite in this one, but the Falcons are at home. Can Monroe pull the upset, or does Somerset clinch the district title?
