Their district is a disaster in regards to RPI. I hate it.

Clinton County makes the trip to Somerset to take on the Briar Jumpers in a district match up. The Bulldogs are in the midst of a tough season and are winless at 0-6. Somerset comes in at 5-1. This one looks like another running clock game for Somerset. I have heard a rumor that Clinton County might forfeit, but I can't confirm it. The Bulldogs only have 23 players on their roster, so it would seem like a possibility. Any chance Clinton can at least stave off a running clock until the 2nd half?

I remember Pulaski County beating Waggener 82-68 in the 2003 playoffs. I think that game is still the record for most total touchdowns.

Regardless of what the announcers might have said, I was not officiating that game. I was driving to Atlanta. 😅

Heck of an offensive showing by Scott County. But I don't think they can be a serious contender in 5A with the lack of any defense.

They won a game against Green County 36-35. Last week Green County went to Somerset and was down 41-0 about 8 minutes into the 1st quarter before ultimately losing 60-0. I don't think Glasgow has anything to worry about in that game.

I hate being in that district. It's 4 wasted weeks of games that we get bringing from.

That Southwestern score might be a little deceiving. It was a crosstown rivalry game. Those, at least around here, often have strange outcomes. Look no further than last season . The Jumpers best Southwestern 35-7, and would have ended up with a running clock if weather delays hadn't ended this. Then a few weeks later the Warriors played with Pulaski County into the 4th quarter before falling 22-12. The Southwestern kids had heard all week that they were going to get a running clock out on them, and they really can't to play. Somerset had Ironton the next week, and seemed to be looking ahead. In scrimmages with Beechwood and Lexington Catholic they more than held their own, beating both squads. Scrimmage results are not regular season results, but they did show that they were not outmatched athletically. Health will be key for Somerset going forward, but they will be a tough out in the playoffs. Though they fell to Owensboro Catholic the past 3 seasons in the playoffs, they have been right in the game the past 2 years. They even led in the 4th quarter in the road last year before losing by 8.

The 4-1 Briar Jumpers will make the trek across the Cumberland Parkway to take on the 0-5 Hornets in a district matchup. Somerset bounced back from their loss to Ironton with a 60-0 demolition of Green County on homecoming. Eight different Briar Jumpers scored touchdowns in the blowout. Metcalfe County has yet to put one in the win column this season. Somerset should win this one, and win handily. Thoughts?
