Awesome hire for Garrard. With Cooper's son they have an outside scoring threat that along with Quisenberry is a good combination. If they grow and the freshman and sophomores develop around those kids it could be really good next couple of years in GC.

45th & 12th is tough but the right coach can make some noise at GC, the talents young but they got some kids that can play

According to GCHS website today is the deadline for applications. Any news on potential Coach applicants?

I can see the decision based on finances and uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation but like 4 Quarters stated you take a huge chance on losing good coaches due to the unpredictable job situation as well.

East was dangerous last year. They return very good squad. Going to be interesting to see what Adams or You g can do with them if they get the job.

Is any of the assistants applying? Quisenberry was coaching MS then HS his kid is talented and started at point as 8th grader.

Guess I could see wanting to Head a program but Cooper is already In a good spot at the Ville, Ethan will start this year and the Ads will have a good trio of guards. He has already been in that situation at GC. Can’t see him going.

Good Luck to Coach Young on his future career. I know Garrard lost a great scoring threat in Sebastian. Should be interesting to see how their young guys can develop under new leadership. Let’s hope we get to play ball in the fall!

Frye was as athletic player as I have seen. District match ups next year could be some shootouts. Without size it will be interesting to see how our district will compete with Region teams like Somerset & Pulaski. Those teams always seem to have good size.

Absolutely agree Bell was a machine rebounding and just played with tenacity.

Okay this quarantine deal is getting old so lets discuss 45th district team loses to graduation. Undoubtedly this was a good group of senior players that all played pivotal roles to help their teams this past year. Danville and their run in the region with their leaders Bell and Dawson was exciting and boosted confidence for the younger Ads no doubt. All teams are losing important pieces of the puzzle for the coming year. In your opinion which team does it affect the most? Although all teams are losing vital pieces, Lincoln will miss the 6'8" Bodner and Garrard will suffer offensively without Sebastian. Replacing players with size and that type skill will be an arduous task. Lets hope COVID deal is gone for the start of the 2020-2021 season. It will be interesting to see how these teams respond and who will step up to fill leadership roles for these teams. The remaining regional teams over the last 4 years according to Riherds have the following winning percentage in regional games. Pulaski 60-18 76.92% Lincoln 58-25 69.88% Wayne 45-27 62.50% Somerset 42-32 56.76% W Jessamine 31-24 56.36% Danville 43-34. 55.84% SW Pulaski 35-30 53.85% E Jessamine 21-32 39.62% This makes for an exciting tourney every year given the tourney teams are pretty even. Even though E Jess is below 50% they are dangerous if they play their A game. Should be an awesome atmosphere in Somerset this week.

Excitement is building for this bracket. All these teams are capable of getting on a roll in the tourney. It all comes down to matchups and who can get shots to fall. Can’t wait to watch them tip it up!

This region is really competitive. It wouldn’t surprise me to see any of the top 4 Lincoln, Somerset, Pulaski or Danville pull it out. If any of the other four get hot it could easily be One of them. May be the most balanced Region in Central KY. Flip a coin ladies and gentleman March the 4th will kickoff the most exciting time in high school basketball.

It all comes down to the top 4 in the 45th. I look for Sebastian to come out swinging but the Pats are just really good defensively and just a tough matchup for the Lions. Tomorrow night give me the Pats 58-42 The Ads cruised in tonight’s matchup easily with KSD. Boyle has been up and down all year along with Danville. Title town matchups are always fun. Give me the Rebels early on with Slone, Bell & company pulling it out late 73-70 OT!!!

Somerset is athletic and Grundy is strong. They travel to Garrard tonight for a 12th regional match up. We should see how GC will fare vs another top regional team out of the 45th.

Big win for the Bunnies last night over the Maroons. Interesting to see how the last few district match-ups play out. Danville at Lincoln and East Jess at West Jess should be great games. Top Region teams starting to establishing themselves.

Guy from GC says LC just hit shots from perimeter and defended really well, held Sebastian well below his average. Second half kind turned up the energy and played faster.

So Danville beats Lincoln, Lincoln beats Garrard, Garrard beats Danville, Boyle beats Garrard then Danville, Lincoln beats Garrard again.... these matchups are fun to watch!

Somerset is one of a few teams that can win the 12th. I look for them to come out against Pulaski and get a win. Pulaski is solid should be a good game.

Ads are pretty good when the perimeter shots are falling. Interesting games tomorrow night Garrard @ Lincoln & Danville @ Boyle. It comes down to match ups and how coaches choose to manage strategies to affect the opponents tactical decisions. Several players in the 45th challenge coaches with plethora of skills. Should be some really good games.

Ads take care of business riding huge game from Slone. Sebastian was held in check by McKinney’s Defensive plan. You can tell that Sebastian is Garrard’s main threat.

There is still a Feb 14th match between Ads and Pats. These teams have all improved over the last few weeks. Each team has the tools to compete in the 45th. Looking at the programs Lincoln should pull it off, but Ads have shown they can be beat and Garrard has shown the Ads are vulnerable when they dont play good. Dont forget Boyle they have lost a few games but are still talented enough to make a push. 45th is fun every year.
