With exception of Ryle being worse than I expected, this is pretty much how I thought NKY would look at the start of the year.

Who are Dixie’s leading players?

Cooper wins a close one.

Foster Schuette from Highlands. Big and strong kid with a nose for the ball. He will see some varsity time next year. Will be interesting to see if they use him on O or D.

Are there any big names who "should have" gone to Dixie but are winding up at other schools?

Who are Chatard’s big players other than the QB?

That was certainly a big win.

Maybe different groups are preparing differently, but the message to the boys I know have been Dixie. To your point, I’m sure staff has also been spending time on next week though. I’m just talking about where the focus to the boys has been.

In Ky, 6A is the biggest. In Ohio, Div 1 is. Just curious how Indiana measures teams.

Nope. Birds staff has been very clear to the boys to take Dixie seriously. They have been preaching to the boys that ANYONE can beat you and to NOT overlook any team!

Would be cool to seed these and put them into a playoff. Obviously, including Male.

Now that's one thing we can agree on.

Because every area want's their traditional powerhouses to be good. As a Highlands fan, I want Cov Cath to be GREAT. Although I want Highlands to be better. When Highlands rolls off 15 wins in a row against CCH, it's NOT exciting. The past 2 years, watching CCH dominate, hasn't been exciting. The fact that the Birds haven't even been competitive in that game, makes it even worse. When both teams are strong and you know it's going to be a battle, it's AWESOME! The same holds true for the St. X and Trinity rivalry, or the Mayfield and Paducah Tilghman rivalry. All areas want to see their "giants" strong and contenders. When one is dominating and the other is struggling, it's just not as good. Other NKY schools have really good years every now and then, but historically, people in KY expect Highlands, Cov Cath, and Beechwood to ALWAYS be at the top of their game. See I even gave the Beechwood guy some love in there. It's just like watching March Madness. I love the underdog story for round 1 and 2. But at the end of the day, I want UK, Kansas, NC, and those bums from Duke to be the top dogs in it.

Who else has a bright future? I know Cov Cath and Highlands are both stacked right now with underclass talent (which is great for NKY football). Will these 2 teams be in a class of their own, or are there other schools who have talent coming up the next few years? I did NOT say they were crushing EVERY opponent they played. Nor did I mention anything about Beechwood until that game specifically was asked about and I provided the scores for both games. My question still remains the same, are HHS and Cov Cath the only schools with big talent in each class or are their others? If you are saying Beechwood has it, then AWESOME! I hope there are more than 2 schools with talent in each class. Based on the games I have personally watched, Highlands was running over most teams at the JV and Frosh levels. I know there are games I haven't watched, which was the point of my question. I'm sure many people have seen many games I have not. My gosh, I don't have to be "right". Nope, not at all. I was at the game and saw Cov Cath beat the Birds Frosh team. So this year the Birds JV have won: 63-0 34-0 28-0 41-0 40-6 47-13 Frosh have 1 loss to Cov Cath and wins of: 40-20 26-14 46-6 42-14 34-20 I'm not sure I'd change my statement that Birds underclassmen have been crushing teams this year. Yes, I recognize they lost a game though. I'm looking at a full body of work, not just one or 2 games.

Nice game. Could have been closer, but a late very short field for CCH made it a wider margin. The 3 yard yard pick six was a killer. I've been to the past 4 of these games. Once again, the game plan for Cov Cath was the difference. Both teams have a lot of talent, but CCH just does a better job at getting the ball to their best players. How in the world does Schuette only get 3 touches and the Birds expect to win? He and Richter are a load to bring down and could have controlled the game, but that wasn't in the game plan. Congrats to Cov Cath. Another solid crop of talent for both teams, but the streak continues. CCH has a nice combination of size and speed on that team. 44 is a stud. For the Birds I was really impressed with Kissee and Mason Welsh seemed to be hitting the QB every time he threw the ball. Plenty of good stuff to build on for both teams.

Who for FD is better than Hudson?

How big are the FD lines? Are you saying they are bigger, faster, and stronger than SC? That's a bold statement.

Highlands is the best of that pack. I believe Cov Cath, BG, SW, and HHS all have a shot. Cov Cath is certainly the front runner, but football is a physical sport and we’re only half way through the season. Is Cov Cath the same team if McGuiness sprains and ankle? How does Tisdale going down effect BG Or Huddy with HHS? I don’t want any of this to happen, but my point being, these teams are all good enough to win, but it’s football and things can change quickly. Great teams are always ready and capitalize on opportunities.

Just FYI, this year Highlands JV beat Beechwood 28-0 and the Freshman Birds won 34-20... I think you can remove the “maybe” as to the talent coming up at Highlands.
