  1. That clip proves he got it off. Slow it down and watch as the backboard turns red--the ball is out of his hands. Great video!
  2. Intense game from start to finish. Closer than final score. 8 point game late in fourth. McKnight was great!
  3. If Spencer loses to Collins tonight which Collins is favored then I DON'T want to play Walton Verona. The one team in the region that Spencer cannot matchup with due to size. They matchup much better with Gallatin. Based on recent common opponents I would say they are pretty even.
  4. Just pointing out the fact that they had not played. Your post led people to believe that they had played everybody in the regionals. I would say most people didn't realize that they actually had not played. Hoping Spencer County draws Gallatin. Would be an interesting game.
  5. Sophomores Lucas Hornback and Sam Conley had big games. Everybody played well. Spencer County gym will be rocking Friday Night.
  6. I never had disrespect for Anderson County. They lost a ton from last year and Spencer County beat them by 21 at Anderson County a few weeks ago, however, I'm not stupid enough to realize that anything can happen in the playoffs. I would say Spencer is coming into this game well prepared also.
  7. Spencer County has to take care of business first against a team that has knocked them out the past two years--Anderson County. I can assure you that if Spencer gets to the Friday night game it will be a crazy atmosphere. LOL
  8. Better get there early. Small gym makes for a great environment! If Spencer County is in that game the whole county will be there.
  9. Tell me what part of what I said is inaccurate. He got offers because of his length and athleticism. Potential. Watched him this summer and heard the same things from other people around me. I hope he goes to Xavier and becomes an all-american. He needs to rebound better, work on skill, and put on some weight. Just my opinion.
  10. The thing that is kind of a red flag for Miles is that he's averaging 6 rebounds and he's 6 ft 11. Skill level is not great and will be pushed around at the high D-1 level. Still has alot of potential.
  11. My top five (keep in mind I like players that excel at both ends) would be McKnight, Conley, Hardin, Miles, Niece. I think those five will have the best shot at the next level. Three of those guys are sophomores. The sophomore class in Kentucky may be the deepest it has ever been from top to bottom.
  12. Solid win for Spencer County to end regular season.
  13. That score is closer than I would have thought. Anderson must be playing well.
  14. Sophomore Trevor Hardin went for 37 against South Oldham tonight. I don't think people realize how good this kid really is.
  15. Sophomore Sam Conley gets his 1000th point.
  16. For player of the year I would have to have Sam Conley on there before Miles considering he averages more points and rebounds (17.4, 7 Reb) and he's two years younger and 9 inches shorter. I know you probably have Miles on there for defense but Conley is known for being a lockdown defender. Unfortunately Spencer has no size so Conley has to guard the post. When he defends anyone his size or smaller it's a lockdown. When coming up with a top five I like guys that play both ends. You have some scorers on there who can score no doubt but if Conley guards them they would get half their averages. Those kids wouldn't have a chance guarding him because he is so explosive going to the basket. Another kid that would be on my list is Trevor Hardin of Henry County. Plays both ends and as good as anyone I watched this year. Just my two cents. Fun debate.
  17. Good analysis. That Henry County vs Spencer County score doesn't really tell the story though. Spencer County was up 27 in the third and Coach Burns pulled the starters for the rest of the game. That game was headed towards a forty point win. Spencer also played without starting sophomore Lucas Hornback due to illness.
  18. After watching the Shelby County vs Spencer County game last night I came away pretty impressed with Shelby County. It was a well played intense game. Collins may have a tougher first round game than I originally thought. Shelby has some talent.
  19. I don't think South Oldham should be ranked above Spencer and I was very disappointed in the game cancellation between Gallatin and Spencer. I think that is a matchup of two very similar teams. It was a game that I think Spencer County was ready for and I think their defense would have caused Gallatin some trouble. Just an opinion. Spencer's loss this week was to a very good PRP team. That game was played dead even with Spencer down 1 with 1:15 left. Spencer had to foul which led to final score. They are playing very well.
  20. Spencer County freshman knocked off Collins and Anderson County to win district tournament. Good talent in that program.
