Looking at South Oldham' scores....this is the first time they scored under 70. Spencer has a brilliant defensive minded coach. He has put up some good game plans the past few years. I'm sure it helps that he knows a lot about South having coached there.

Didn't they break the state 3 point shooting record by like 50 like last season?

Anyone know schedules for Louisville area shootouts/scrimmages for tomorrow? I hear fairdale, fern creek, and Seneca all have events Saturday the 19th. Schedules and teams for those events?

What a game this was! Big win for Franklin-Simpson

It's great to hear people excited about spencer county. The may have a talented 8th grade group. However, Oldham, South, Anderson, and even Shelby will have good freshmen teams. Plus there is a difference between an 8th graders body and a high schoolers. But having watched their coach and lack of talent the past years. I can see them being a very scary team if talent starts coming through like these 8th graders people are talking about. I'm hearing good things from the entire region.

Very tough district, especially with Anderson Co. probably being number 1 in the region. Like hearing good things out of spencer county. Always have a good band and great atmosphere there. Looking at their scores from last year, they lost to Shelby in triple OT, Anderson in OT. I saw the Collins game they should have won last year if not for blown layup. That district will always be a war.

I agree, learning how to win is an underrated component. However, Fern Creek has been competing and had good showings in not only the region, but the LIT. They will have a lot of opportunities to become battle tested during the year. Biggest question is who gets the ball when the game is on the line and do those kids play well together.

I'm seeing posts about South, Collins, and Anderson. Anyone have a clue how good Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, or northern schools are?

Who does everybody think will be top 5 or 8?

I would have guessed the same thing. It seemed like more than 400. Still low, but not as extreme

Have they hired a new coach? I'm assuming the assistant is taking it. I think he does a great job and is running all of the summer stuff I believe.

Coach Cates should have a shot at it as well.

Couple of names I've heard thrown around. Enoch Welch, Randy McCoy, Jason Burns, Jason Holland, and an assistant from Bullitt County. I'm sure a few of these are rumors and won't even apply however.

Are you referring to the guy at Spencer? I heard he interviewed at Shelby the last go around. He's done a good job at Spencer. Not sure if he's from there or not.

Does this hire come locally or are there some outsiders interested?

A lot of fun to watch talent. Glad more of the top players are actually playing.
