  1. Chisholm beating SK by 11 late in 4th.
  2. Cruel of SK to string Ryle along like this - letting them think they can win before rallying to victory!!
  3. Patented SK comeback starts now!!!
  4. Time for the patented SK comeback!!!
  5. Thelen has a D-I body - whether he develops a D-I game remains to be seen. I can’t see him as a primary scorer - he does have the length to be an effective defender and rebounder at both ends. Will be interesting to see what numbers he puts up this year.
  6. Michael Mayer starts and is terrific by year end. Davin, Thelen, and Lenihan fill out core rotation. Davin gets a lot of run this year.
  7. This. And Perrin’s skills really haven’t evolved. He is better suited as a role player at this point. Could be a long year for Scott - not a lot of scorers on that squad.
  8. Michael Mayer is due for a breakout year - more upside than the junior bigs and IMO his older brother. The only question for me is how quickly the Mayers/Lenihan transition from football and where their skill sets pick up. It may take time for those guys to get their legs underneath them, especially given they are primed for a state championship playoff run.
  9. I'm not sure I agree with any part of this statement. I do think Cooper has improved their talent level through transfers (Houston is the only meaningful add IMO) and development (sounds like Baker could step up), and they will challenge Cov Cath this year - due as much to their culture and toughness as their talent. That said - Cov Cath should be the favorite in the 9th and I see few if any teams in the state that can match their 1-12 player talent.
  10. No Savannah Jordan (Conner) in the top 10? IMO their best all-around player last year. Is she injured or not playing this year?
  11. Starts in front of Baker (superior all around player IMO) and likely Walters (more physical and better rebounder). Better fit for Cooper’s style of play than Houston - gets up and down and moves better laterally than Houston (good player but heavy footed). I think he’d be a great fit at Cooper facing the basket - but it’s all hypothetical- kid’s at Cov Cath and is staying at Cov Cath.
  12. Fleek is and has been under-appreciated IMO. Would star at Beechwood and start at Cooper. Very, very good player - even with CCH's talent I don't understand how he won't see the floor this year.
  13. Campbell County is a good team. Their offense will put up points - strong running and a nice passing game. They can spread the ball around. I do think SK will be able to attack CC on the flanks and down the field. Shearer's passing will be the key to this game.
  14. Does the scoreboard go out to 3 digits? Cov Cath could put 100 up.
  15. Game wasn’t as close as the final score might indicate.
  16. Yes 35-0 NCC with 6 minutes left in first half.
  17. The reason SK gets so much scrutiny is due in large part (IMO anyway) to how SK fans - unencumbered by facts - continue to play SK up as a viable state title contender. Buffet would call it irrational exuberance. SK is not a state title contender this year. Regardless - with playoffs approaching class-level rankings become more relevant.
  18. I watched via webcast this past year - really was a terrific way to see the games without having to make the trip, pay for tix/hotel, etc. I admit that makes me less of a fan than some, but I felt the pay-per-view option was very good value. I'm curious if anyone else took this same approach and how you felt about it.
  19. Miles' ceiling is extremely high - he will get plenty of D-I offers before it's all said and done and be a very good D-I player. Long, athletic, competitive - great defender and and his offensive skill set is expanding rapidly. I wouldn't be surprised if he puts up very big numbers against Kelch - and all other teams - this year. Walton Verona could be in for a special year.
  20. Coughing up blood seems like a pretty legit reason for an ambulance ride...any sort of internal bleeding needs to be treated immediately. I hope the young man makes a speedy recovery.
  21. Conner wins the first half. Campbell County wins the second half and the game. Lack of half time adjustments doom the Cougars.
  22. Conner at #8 and NCC at #6? Interesting. The loss to Dixie still hurts... Conner beats CC this Friday and they deserve a healthy bump. They aren't top 4 material but this 5-10 listing will likely change week-to-week.
